With two weeks left we think we’ve FINALLY settled on a name for our newest addition.
We’re thinking [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (I know a lot of people don’t like double nature names but we think it sounds very pretty)
Anyways…I’m wondering if you think the name [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] will age well. Or is it one of those hipster/trendy names that I’ll be regretting once my daughter is in her late teens.
I think it’s a fantastic name. [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is a bit trendy, but it’s still awesome on a teenager. I think it will age just fine, and if your daughter feels otherwise, she can always go by “[name_u]June[/name_u]”.
I agree with PP about having the option of going by [name_u]June[/name_u]. I do have a little bit of a hard time picturing an adult named [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. However, in 20 years there will be lots of adults named [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f], [name_u]Jaiden[/name_u], and [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. So I think she will fit in fine.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m], I like the name if it has meaning for you. The only Junipers I know are from hippie (as in vegan, homeschool, sew your own clothes, daily singalongs, drug culture - NOT “hipster”) communities and they’re already 5 and 6. I think [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is already on its way out (I always consider names to be on their way out just before they hit peak popularity in mainstream culture). I’ve also thought, that unless you’re a hippie, it just sounds like updated [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]. Not a bad thing because I love [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]. Generally, I believe the more popular a non-classic name is the more dated its going to sound later on. There’s a strong possibility [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] will sound dated.
It’s a cute name. I wouldn’t personally use it because it doesn’t feel like a solid name. I can’t quite picture an adult [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. However, I feel the same about names like [name_f]Talullah[/name_f], [name_f]Kaylee[/name_f], and [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f].
I love [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! I think [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is far from being popular or even trendy (maybe it is on Nameberry, but not in general population), and it will age just fine
I think it will certainly be more popular among this generation but I don’t think it ages poorly or seems too trendy. There will always be names that only made appearances in certain time periods, this is not something off the wall or silly or too creative to the point that it is going to stand out.
I think [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] ages well. I can picture an adult with it. I ask myself, can I see it on a campaign poster and a college degree. I can for [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]. I think it works just as well as [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] or [name_f]Hailey[/name_f].
I love [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]! I think it will age just fine, especially with [name_u]June[/name_u] as an option. Sometimes double nature combos are too pretty to pass up!
I honestly don’t know, but it is a lovely name and that combo is gorgeous, I would love to meet a [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I’m not entirely convinced that it matters if a name can be dated to a particular period for example [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] can be dated to the 70s/80s. However I still think it is a good solid name to be used even now.
If you love it, go for it. However if you think you may get fed up of it, that would suggest to me that it may not be THE name for you.
