I’ve seen posts before asking people to rank names on their list 0/10, 0 being the worst a name could be and 10 being an amazing name. There are a few names on this list that I’m not quite sure how I feel about, some I love but think the general population might not, and some in between.
I thought it would be interesting to see how unbiased people would rank them. I’m more so hoping to see what your personal opinion is on the name, not what you think about them for me based on how many posts I’ve made for them in the past (ahem, me and my 10,000 Etta posts ).

Hello!

Here are my personal reactions/associations to these names (at this time).

[name_f]Edith[/name_f] “Edie” 8/10 This name (Edie) was on my list for a middle before my husband said he didn’t like the “ee” sound repeat. I get what he’s saying, but as a nickname it’s cute! [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is so soft and gentle, like a whisper. I love it, but he says it’s old lady (I like old lady, okay!)

[name_f]Maxine[/name_f] “Max” 4/10 First of all, nothing wrong with the name, really. I like it. Stranger Things is a good association. It’s a great combination of feminine and masculine (tomboy) vibes. It’s just that I recently watched a horror trilogy about a character named [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] [name_f]Minx[/name_f], and it’s too much at the forefront of my mind to consider using personally (same goes for the name [name_m]Pearl[/name_m], a similar character in the trilogy) shudder

[name_f]Priscilla[/name_f] “Prisca, Prill, Prilla, Pri, Prilly, P, Cill, [name_f]Cilla[/name_f], Rilla” 2/10 I’m sorry, I just think “Prissy”.

[name_f]Etta[/name_f] 5/10 Hmm, it’s cute, but it falls flat for me! I feel like it needs a double-barrel to complete it. Like, Etta-Rae or Etta-Leigh?

[name_f]Lettie[/name_f] 4/10 This one sounds like a nn, and I prefer [name_f]Lottie[/name_f].

[name_f]Estelle[/name_f], 5/10 Hm, not bad on paper, it just doesn’t have a nice flow for me out loud. I suppose I pronounce it with a space between “Eh-” and “Stell”, and it sounds off. I prefer [name_f]Stella[/name_f] for this reason.

[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] “Grid, Grin, [name_f]Inga[/name_f], Ingy” 6/10 Actually, I really like this name and would melt upon meeting a little [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]. Not a fan of the nicknames, but the name is super cute. The only problem is that it kinda sounds like ingrate.

[name_f]Louise[/name_f] 8/10 Jeez [name_f]Louise[/name_f]! I love this name and I love the [name_f]Lou[/name_f] and Lou-lou nn options. So cute and happy!

[name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] 8/10 This gives me the same vibes as [name_f]Louise[/name_f]! Really sweet. But, I like [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] as the name and [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] as the nn.

[name_f]Suzie[/name_f] 6/10 You know, I think the only reason I like this name (Suzie, Suzanne) is that you could use the nn [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f], (It’s a [name_m]Wonderful[/name_m] Life).

[name_f]Edith[/name_f] “Edie” - 9/10. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] was my paternal grandmother’s name, I’m really fond of it for that reason and besides the family connection, I just love the name. I like that it doesn’t sound hyper feminine (really ‘frilly’) rather more warm and friendly. I think I like nn [name_f]Edie[/name_f] even more!

I’m not a big fan of naming kids by a nn, so while [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] would be at the top for me, [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] is near the bottom.

I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f].
