Willabee🤎

I’ve had a new love for the name [name_f]Willa[/name_f] recently, I love the spunk and how pretty it seems, it would also be an honour name for me as my grandfather’s name was [name_u]William[/name_u] and he passed away a while ago, I also adore the nickname Willabee which to me is just adorable.

Any thoughts, Thank you.

[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter is [name_f]Willa[/name_f] after her (now late) grandfather, [name_u]William[/name_u] (we’re so glad we honoured him in this way). Willabee as a play on both the bee and the name Willoughby** is so sweet! We call our [name_f]Willa[/name_f] (in addition to Willa), [name_u]Will[/name_u], Willamina*, [name_f]Minnie[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], Laylee & [name_f]Lala[/name_f], she replies to them all ;). Might have to throw in Willabee, it’s so good!

Only (small) downside of [name_f]Willa[/name_f] is having to correct most people on first mention, hearing it as [name_u]Willow[/name_u] or [name_f]Milla[/name_f]. Gets a good reception either way!

*was toying with [name_f]Willamina[/name_f] (the Scottish spelling as she’s more [name_m]Scot[/name_m] than German) but husband said it sounded a little too [name_u]Harry[/name_u] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] with his last name. I still use it most days, just in the house - she loves it!

**Could you venture as far as [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] for a girl? I know there’s also Willadean/Willodean but I don’t love that as much.

Willabee is just adorable, and it’s wonderful you want to honour your grandfather in that way!

I think this is a great idea - I actually know a little girl called [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] with the nickname [name_f]Willa[/name_f]! Her brother is D@shiell nicknamed [name_u]Dash[/name_u], I think they make a great pair.

i’ve had this sweet name on my list for a couple years now, and absolutely adore it. :white_heart:

it’s sweetly southern, spirited, and spunky. reminiscent of willadeene and williemae, but a little more modern.

i will forever be saying, if you love it, that is a good enough reason to use it. any little girl would be so lucky to have a name like this. :honeybee:

Willabee is adorable :womans_hat::sunflower::cactus:

[name_f]Willa[/name_f] is a lovely name! She’s strong, elegant and a wonderful way to honour a [name_u]William[/name_u]. I automatically think of @EloiseT and her daughter is lovely.

Willabee feels more playful. She feels southern, relaxed and fun. I think Willabee is lovely but I have to say I do like the idea of [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u]!

[name_f]Willa[/name_f] is sweet and Willabee is interesting! It does just sound like [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] to me… which I wouldn’t want to name my kid after, but I know it is trending up. If I opted for anything in the [name_f]Willa[/name_f] family, it’d probably be just [name_f]Willa[/name_f] or maybe [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] nn Willa… but I can see the appeal of Willabee especially in honor of your grandfather.

Good luck!

Absolutely delightful! [name_f]Willa[/name_f] is a gorgeous name, and it’s an ideal honor for [name_u]William[/name_u].

How about [name_f]Willa[/name_f] with a middle name that starts with B (like [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Beulah[/name_f], [name_f]Belle[/name_f], anything!) to get the nickname “Willabee”? I don’t think you need a B middle for the nickname to make sense at all, though; just a thought.

I like the [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] spelling. Nickname [name_f]Willa[/name_f] or [name_u]Willow[/name_u].

Then there is also just [name_u]Willow[/name_u] as a name. Any of these names could be nicknamed [name_u]Billie[/name_u].

Willabee is really cute! It reminds of [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] but more feminine. I like Willabee as a nickname for [name_f]Willa[/name_f] too. I don’t love it as an actual first name, but definite nickname potential
