William?

I never thought this day would
come…the day I consider a name
within the top 10! lol
My lists for future children are 3 full
combos for each gender. (successful
prepping haha) For boys I have
[name]Oliver[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name], and [name]Elliot[/name], with 2
middle names each. But ever since I
decided on [name]Elliot[/name] it just never
seemed perfect or made me swoon
like [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name] do.
Today I started thinking about
[name]William[/name] which is #3 in the U.S. My
others names are no where near this
popular. As I’ve said many times
before my naming style is vintage
(to me that’s being in the top 200 at
around the turn of the century) plus
some other quirky things I won’t
bore you with but [name]William[/name] fits the bill
haha. I just feel it’s so classy that it’s
popularity can be overlooked as it is
not trendy like say [name]Jayden[/name] is.
My only real issues are I know a
couple [name]Williams[/name] but by the time I get
to use the name I doubt I’d be seeing
much of them but their memory is
still there haha. Also, I don’t like nn
[name]Will[/name] or [name]Willy[/name], [name]Billy[/name] I could live with
but my sister already voiced her
dislike of it as we know a few Billys
who we are…less than fond of haha.
I’d use nn [name]Liam[/name] for sure.

  • So I guess what I’d like are some
    opinions/thoughts/comments/
whatever you berries would like to
    say!

    Thanks

    • Sorry that this is a re-post! The site was being a little glitchy when I posted the 1st time

[name]William[/name] is a fine name and very substantial, but…

I do a lot of genealogy research. [name]William[/name] is, by far, the most popular male name on my family tree. [name]Every[/name] time I see the name [name]William[/name] I want to scream. It isn’t because I dislike the name, but it’s because I’m just so sick of seeing and hearing it. I’m not too fond of saying it, either. What’s more, I know more guys called [name]Will[/name] than you could wave a stick at.

My weirdness aside, there is nothing wrong with the name [name]William[/name]. It certainly has a rich history and it could be spiced up with a great middle name, but [name]William[/name] is not for me.

I never loved the name [name]William[/name]. But I am now dating a guy named [name]William[/name] for about 3 years now. I think it is a very good classic name and you can use the nn [name]Liam[/name] which is modern. I’d go for it :).
