A [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is a tree. So yes it could work. [name_m]Just[/name_m] be mindful of how popular it is for girls in your area. If it’s popular enough to have a registered gender association with the general population, it should be a no.
I think [name_f]Willow[/name_f] for a boy is sweet, I really like it. I don’t think it sounds too girly. My favourite name for a boy is [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and I think [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] both work for boys and girls. However, If you know a lot of girl willows, maybe re consider.

I really like it on a boy in theory. There are a lot of female Willows being born at the moment though so it could be a difficult and at times confusing name to grow up with with as a male in the same age group. That said, he could always go by the lovely, solid nn [name_m]Will[/name_m] if he finds it too problematic.
I really love [name_f]Willow[/name_f]! I love it for a girl too, but even more so for a boy. I’m not sure if I’d have the bravery to use it on a boy, so I’ve incorporated it into my list with [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] nn [name_f]Willo[/name_f][w]. (Have that on my girl’s name list too.)
I do think it would work on it’s own tho. As the pp mentioned, the potential of [name_m]Will[/name_m]/[name_m]Wills[/name_m] gives it a masculine feel.

Thanks everyone! I don’t know anyone named [name_f]Willow[/name_f], so that is why I see it as unisex rather than feminine. I actually really like it, and think it is a nice alternative to [name_m]William[/name_m].

Nickname [name_m]Will[/name_m] is nice but it would probably be annoying since most people would assume his name was [name_m]William[/name_m]
