Wondering whether you prefer [name_f]Willow[/name_f] or [name_u]Billie[/name_u]?
[name_m]Even[/name_m] though [name_u]Billie[/name_u] is a derivative of [name_f]Willow[/name_f], I see them as both stand alone names, and am curious at which you prefer. Or even your opinions on the names.
My grandmother’s name was [name_u]Billie[/name_u], so I have a positive association with it for a girl. I have been warming up to [name_f]Willow[/name_f] lately, but I still prefer [name_u]Billie[/name_u].
Definitely [name_f]Willow[/name_f]! It’s such a beautiful nature name. [name_u]Billie[/name_u] is fun and casual, but [name_f]Willow[/name_f] feels more elegant and magical to me.
I think as a standalone name [name_u]Billie[/name_u] doesn’t do as well as [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. Though I do love both, so I’d use [name_u]Billie[/name_u] as a nickname.
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] doesn’t seem substantial enough to me as a stand alone, so I’d vote [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. But I love [name_u]Billie[/name_u] as a nickname (for [name_f]Willow[/name_f] or something else).
I see the appeal of both, but prefer [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. And as has been said, you still have the option of using [name_u]Billie[/name_u] as a nn.
I prefer [name_u]Billie[/name_u] tbh. I’m really crushing on [name_m]Bill[/name_m] (for a girl) right now, because of a character, and on nicknamey, slightly more masculine names for girls in general. [name_u]Billie[/name_u]'s fun, feisty and quirky. Plus it has good associations for me personally. I like how [name_f]Willow[/name_f] sounds, but I’m not sure about how it feels.
It depends on what you are going for. [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is more “in” and [name_u]Billie[/name_u] is more casual and spunky. Personally, I slightly prefer [name_u]Billie[/name_u].
