Willow or Sage

My husband and I currently live in the Southeast but we are from [name_u]California[/name_u]. We want a nature name (more earthy than flowery) & not too hippyish! lol. For the first name, I want a strong name not to girly so I’m not sure if [name_f]Willow[/name_f] or [name_u]Sage[/name_u] would be the best fit.

My husbands family is Hispanic and we are both Christians so we want the middle name to be a Spanish saint or Bible name. Possibly [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]/[name_f]Luciana[/name_f] or [name_f]Ysabel[/name_f].

(We don’t know the gender of our baby and the boy name we’ve chosen is [name_u]River[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m])

Please weigh in on your preference for [name_f]Willow[/name_f] or [name_u]Sage[/name_u]. Thanks!

I like your choices in names, [name_u]Sage[/name_u] is my favourite out of [name_u]Sage[/name_u] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. [name_u]Sage[/name_u] [name_f]Ysabel[/name_f] would be beautiful [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and love it with [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]. [name_f]Ysabel[/name_f] sounds nice with [name_f]Willow[/name_f] too.

I prefer [name_f]Willow[/name_f] as a FN and [name_u]Sage[/name_u] as a MN. Both are on my list, [name_f]Willow[/name_f] a smidge higher up than [name_u]Sage[/name_u]. For you, I prefer [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Ysabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]. I especially love [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. In the future if you have a girl and a boy, [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_u]River[/name_u] would make a wonderful sibling set.

I like [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. [name_u]Sage[/name_u] is a bit more hippie-ish to me. Other nature-y suggestions are [name_u]Waverly[/name_u], [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], and [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] (but might not work in Spanish).

Tough call! I love both. [name_u]Sage[/name_u] is simple, short, earthy, and strong. [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is elegant, flowy, and sophisticated. I honestly don’t know if I have a preference either way. I think it really depends on what kind of “vibe” you’re looking for and which name you’d rather say 100 times a day.

I prefer [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] is lovely. I also love [name_f]Ysabel[/name_f], but it probably goes better with [name_u]Sage[/name_u].

So I went with [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Luciana[/name_f]! But the trouble is, I am a nickname person. I can’t come up with any nicknames for [name_f]Willow[/name_f] that I like and keep calling her [name_m]Willy[/name_m] on accident. I want to call her [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] but is that too confusing since its her first name? Also, can I start calling her by her middle name without people thinking that its strange? Advice appreciated!

I like [name_f]Willow[/name_f] a lot but worry it could be hard to wear for some. I know a young [name_u]Sage[/name_u] and am amazed by how much I love her name.
