I think the [name_f]Winnifred[/name_f] Fances combo is a little clunky to say with 2 "fr"s so close together. If you’d use [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] with the middle name the double “ee” sounds (like with [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]) might be a little sing-songy. I went with [name_f]Winnifred[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
I was really stuck between [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] & [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u], I went for [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] in the end though as in general I prefer [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] over [name_u]June[/name_u] - both are lovely combos though.
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] gets my vote, so sweet! [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I’m not the biggest fan of [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], it does make a pretty combo with [name_f]Winifred[/name_f].
Up until recently I thought [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] was a frumpy old lady name, but it has really grown on me! It sounds very grounded and serious to me. It’s vintage and off-beat. However, I can’t bring myself to like [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the Pooh was a staple of my childhood, and unfortunately I don’t think I’ll ever be able to overcome that association.
I really like a lot of your combos. I voted for [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], but I love [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] too. To me, they complement [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] well because while [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] still has some clunky undertones to me, those four names sound brighter/prettier/trendier somehow, while still having the same vintage feel.
I love [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]! It is quite a sturdy name, but cool in a vintage, retro kind of way. [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is adorable and balances out the staid nature of [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] perfectly for me. Associations that come to mind, aside from the obvious [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the Pooh, are lots of [name_f]Enid[/name_f] Blyton characters in her boarding school stories and my Great Grandmother, who was [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
I chose [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as my favourite combination, partially because of this link for me, but also because I think that it is a downright gorgeous name. I think a one-syllable middle name works well with [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]-I like the sound of [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] also-and though some people might argue that [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a filler name, I don’t believe that it is in the slightest. Itis pretty and delicate and feminine, but also strong in a way that both complements and matches with [name_f]Winifred[/name_f].
Good luck with your decision-I think all of your choices are beautiful!
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is very pretty. I think of [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] from the Wonder Years, and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] from the book/movie [name_m]Tuck[/name_m] Everlasting, which are nice associations. With the full [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], I also think of [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_m]Sanderson[/name_m] from Hocus Pocus.
