I’ve loved [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] for a long time, mainly because it sounds vintage and you can to to [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] from it. After binge watching Stranger Things, I started to love [name_f]Winona[/name_f] because of [name_f]Winona[/name_f] [name_m]Ryder[/name_m]. I think it sounds equally as vintage and elegant as [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], and of course you can get the nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] from it. So now I’m kind of in the middle of the two, and don’t know which one I like better. What are your opinions on the two?
I think [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is prettier than [name_f]Winona[/name_f], and has a more vintage feel. Either way though, you get [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is adorable.
(And wasn’t Stranger Things awesome?!)
I love [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] personally
I prefer [name_f]Winona[/name_f]. But, I do love [name_f]Winona[/name_f] [name_m]Ryder[/name_m] (especially from Girl, Interrupted) so I am biased.
I like both, but prefer [name_f]Winifred[/name_f].
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] sounds more vintage to me. I much prefer it to [name_f]Winona[/name_f].
I absolutely love the name [name_f]Winona[/name_f]. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is sweet and definitely more vintage, but [name_f]Winona[/name_f] has attitude. It’s fierce and beautiful AND it has [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] as a nickname. I also think that between the two names, [name_f]Winona[/name_f] would deal with less problems in terms of bullying because it isn’t exactly weird. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] to little kids sounds very silly, especially in this decade when the most common names are [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] sticks out like a sore thumb. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t get me wrong- it’s a nice name, but I prefer [name_f]Winona[/name_f] because while it also sticks out from the regular girl names we hear every day, it does so in a good way. In a striking, elegant way.
[name_f]Winona[/name_f] for the win
I prefer [name_f]Winnifred[/name_f].
[name_f]Winona[/name_f] is very oretty
Another vote for [name_f]Winona[/name_f]! She is beautiful and has spark to her ”
When I think of [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], I picture a girl wearing vintage dresses, playing piano, being an avid reader, a very simple yet strong-willed person.
[name_f]Winona[/name_f] makes me think of a girl that is wearing 90s shorts, a choker necklace, who has a few small tattoos, somebody who might appear very complicated and cool but instead is very kind.
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] has vintage charm while [name_f]Winona[/name_f] has retro coolness, I picture both of them being strong and bold personalities just from different ends of the spectrum.
I personally perefer [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] but [name_f]Winona[/name_f] is interesting, too.
Definitely [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]! Has so many cute nn options (including the boyish [name_u]Freddie[/name_u], which I love)!
I love both of these names! [name_f]Winona[/name_f] always makes me think of [name_f]Winona[/name_f] [name_m]Ryder[/name_m] (not a bad association, but an association nonetheless). I like the classic feel of [name_f]Winifred[/name_f].
[name_f]Winona[/name_f] forever!
Me too. I think I prefer [name_f]Winona[/name_f] anyway. ps Stranger Things is great!
Stranger Things was so good!
I prefer the sound of [name_f]Winona[/name_f] and the [name_m]Ryder[/name_m] reference doesn’t put me off.
For me, the two names have such different vibes. [name_f]Winona[/name_f] feels softer but still strong, a little bit country/prairie, old fashioned, but not in the stiff way that [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is. To me [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is maybe more elegant though if that’s what you are looking for.
I prefer [name_f]Winifred[/name_f].
[name_f]Winona[/name_f] [name_m]Ryder[/name_m] is awesome. I’d go with [name_f]Winona[/name_f].
