We’ve recently grown fond of the name [name]Winston[/name] for a little boy. Though I’m having some hard time picturing it at different ages.
I was wondering if any of you knew any Winstons, how old they are (general age range), and if they go by any nicknames, or simply [name]Winston[/name]?
Also, any general thoughts on the name, or other suggestions welcome! We like classic/traditional names, to go with a sister [name]Rose[/name].
I love it. I knew a [name]Winston[/name] around the age of 16, who was a great guy. He occasionally went by [name]Winnie[/name] but usually just went by [name]Winston[/name]. Unfortunately he passed at 16.
I’ve known several at various stages, and I think it ages really well. If you watch “The [name]New[/name] Girl,” one of the roommates is a really funny, energetic, handsome guy named [name]Winston[/name]. It works at all ages, imo.
I was thinking about this name today. I personally don’t know any [name]Winston[/name]'s but I do however know a dog with the name but that has not put me off it. [name]Billie[/name] [name]Piper[/name] and [name]Laurence[/name] [name]Fox[/name]'s older son is called [name]Winston[/name] [name]James[/name]. I has also going to say about the character from ‘[name]New[/name] Girl’ but zippy already mentioned him.
I love [name]Winston[/name], so much!! I know of a little boy called [name]Winston[/name], who is around 5 and he gets nicknamed [name]Win[/name] quite often. It’s really cute.
My only association with the name is [name]Winston[/name] [name]Churchill[/name], so I see it as an old name rather than a younthful one. Others you might like: [name]Jasper[/name], [name]August[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Damon[/name], [name]Vincent[/name], [name]George[/name], [name]Henry[/name], [name]Philip[/name], [name]Raymond[/name], [name]Redmund[/name], [name]Edmund[/name], [name]Ciaran[/name], [name]Finnegan[/name], [name]Peter[/name], [name]Albert[/name], [name]Robert[/name]?
I don’t know personally know anyone named [name]Winston[/name], though I don’t have a very tough time picturing it on any age. My first association is 1984, which gives it a little bit of a dystopian-lit edge. My favorite nickname is ‘[name]Win[/name],’ and if I had a son named [name]Winston[/name], I’d probably call him that. Also, just to throw it out there, my personal combo is [name]Winston[/name] [name]Adair[/name].
I think [name]Winston[/name] sounds excellent in a sibset with [name]Rose[/name]! They complement one another perfectly.
I love it! Distinguished with great history. I have know one little [name]Winston[/name] that went by [name]Winston[/name]. I guess you could use [name]Win[/name].
I adore [name]Winston[/name] at the moment, like pps I have only positive associations: [name]Winston[/name] from 1984, [name]Churchill[/name] & the ‘[name]New[/name] Girl’ character. I looove the nn [name]Win[/name].
