What are your thoughts on [name_u]Winter[/name_u], in general and specifically for a boy? [name_f]My[/name_f] opinion on the latter is it’s a word name, so there shouldn’t be anything inherently feminine. It also has an “-er” ending, which is common among boys’ names. Additionally, it’s not that common for either gender, meaning a little boy [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is highly unlikely to be surrounded by little girl [name_m]Winters[/name_m] and hence think he has a “girl name.” However I want to see what others think!
I’m also trying to make some combos for [name_u]Winter[/name_u]. So far I like:
I’ve actually only known male [name_u]Winter[/name_u]'s, so I think it’s totally fine for a boy! [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is so sweet
I completely agree with you. Word and nature names are almost always fair game for both boys and girls for me, and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is no acceptation!
My favorites on your list are [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m].
Some other suggestions you might like:
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]/Winter [name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_u]Edison[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]/Winter [name_u]Edison[/name_u]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
@halinka That’s interesting that you’ve only met male [name_u]Winter[/name_u]’s, but nice to know that it is used for boys, perehaps more commonly than I thought. Also I’m happy to hear you like [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u].
@anon57824181 Thank you! It’s one of my favourites, for it’s flow and the subtle (I think) [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]-y theme.
@starless That is very true about word/nature names. I love [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]! Thank you!
@skylerros [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any particular names meaning [name_u]Winter[/name_u] that you like? I would love any recommendations! I’m also glad to hear you like [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u].
I prefer [name_u]Winter[/name_u] on a boy, but I like it in the middle spot. The one little [name_u]Winter[/name_u] I knew went by [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], which reads significantly more feminine to me.
In general - [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is a boy but [name_u]Wynter[/name_u] is a girl so depend’s I guess. Also very pretty name for either gender.
A boy - Sure why not, word names are versatile except when specifically used otherwise (via. [name_f]Hope[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Summer[/name_f] etc etc.)
First/Middles: [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Laurence[/name_u], [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
Suggestions: [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]/Michael [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_m]Phillip[/name_m] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Orion[/name_u]
I don’t like [name_u]Winter[/name_u] on a boy… Its just too cool. Someone commented that they felt [name_m]Zane[/name_m] was “too cool for school” and thats exactly how I feel about [name_u]Winter[/name_u] on a boy. On a girl its ok. It helps that theres [name_f]Summer[/name_f] and [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]. Still a bit of an unfriendly vampire vibe for me…
@eattacosforbreakfast I agree with your tale on the popularity. Also, I think [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] might be a little Christmassy because of, well, the season of course and the angel [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u], but I still love the combo.
@QuirkFlower I agree that [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] seems more feminine, but I prefer just [name_u]Winn[/name_u] or full [name_u]Winter[/name_u] anyways.
@futuremama YES Dear [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is such a beautiful song! I think it might have actually been what got me thinking about [name_u]Winter[/name_u] lately. [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] could totally be an option! Not sure why I didn’t put it down.
@tfzolghadr I love [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_m]Matthias[/name_m], [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_m]Josias[/name_m], [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_m]Cassius[/name_m], [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] (I like the contrasting imagery), [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_m]Hadrian[/name_m], and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_m]Emilian[/name_m]. Thank you!
@Sophie_sawriter it’s interesting how spelling can make such a difference on how names 're perceived. Also I’m not usually a [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] fan, but I love [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]! Thanks!
@hellobanjo Interesting you say that - I also find [name_u]Winter[/name_u] feels very cool on a boy, but I like it for that. Thank you for your feedback!
