Hey I could use some help naming my character!
Genre of [name_u]Story[/name_u]: (Fairytale Retelling)

Time Period/Location: Medieval [name_f]Italy[/name_f]

Brief Plot: [name_f]Rapunzel[/name_f] Retelling

Character Description: Witch Character; Old woman, 300 years (70-80 in appearance) haggish. Big nose. Your typical witch.

I want her name to be Italian, and mean something ugly or witch related(I’m big on name meanings matching characters in my stories.) I’ve looked all over, and most “witch” names aren’t Italian. Please help!

Names that directly mean “witch” are rare, so I looked for some related characteristics:

Calogera means “beautiful elder”. If you don’t think your witch is beautiful, make it just Gera (“elder”)
[name_f]Alda[/name_f] can be translated to old (or alternatively to “noble” or “wave”)

I didn’t have much luck finding names that mean “ugly”, sorry.
