Wolf too trendy?

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf/name_m is one of our top contenders. We love it for honoring our [name_m]German[/name_m] heritage. Hubby loves [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m], so I thought [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] would be a good compromise. I’m wondering if instead of coming off as an honor middle, it just seems trendy and will seem dated?

Are you planning on calling him [name_m]Wolf[/name_m]? Otherwise I think it’s not something to worry about at all. Middle names are for passports, wedding invitations, and graduation ceremonies; the general judging public won’t even be exposed to it most of the time. You can’t predict how dated it might feel in twenty years, so use and enjoy [name_m]Wolf[/name_m].

[name_m]Wolf[/name_m] ([name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m]) is an established name and I don’t consider it to be trendy at all.

The only place I’ve actually seen [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] considered as a name is on Nameberry.

Not trendy at all in my opinion. I don’t think it’s seen much if any popularity, althougu I can’t vouch for every country. [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] is very handsome by the way, and I love [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] and [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m].

Agreed. I don’t think it is trendy really. Also, [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] has been a solid name for a very long time, so I don’t see [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] looking dated in the future.

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] if cool, no need to worry about [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] being too trendy, I think unlike [name_m]Bear[/name_m] it has a very classic cultural history so will stand the test of time.

One suggestion though - leave off the ‘e’ because [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] starts to look a bit too much like [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] Wilde.
