I also think it evokes a [name]Sherlock[/name] [name]Holmes[/name] or Mobster feel.

[name]Wolfgang[/name] makes me think strong…like [name]Ulysses[/name]. It’s a big name that feels almost ironic on a less athletic boy.

I’ve thought about this a lot as my husband loves these 2 names.

I also think these are names that put out a kind of intellectual vibe on the parents part.

I think of [name]Mozart[/name] or a strong, [name]German[/name] man… so intelligent/handsome/strong I guess. My step-uncle’s name is [name]Wolfgang[/name] (very [name]German[/name] family!) and he goes by “[name]Wolf[/name]”.

Strong, intelligent, quiet and handsome.

My husband desperately wants this name for our third son due soon. I just can’t do it. We have one son who is small like his dad (which is no problem at all). I just cannot risk a tiny, skinny boy being saddled with such a huge name. If your partner is a strapping 6ft plus man, then go for it.

Nobody thinks [name]Wolfgang[/name] is fun-loving? I do. I think [name]Wolfgang[/name] is such a zany, cool, intensely masculine name, that a kid named [name]Wolfgang[/name] would have to have a sense of humor about it. Wolfie not fun-loving? Have you ever seen huskies playing in the snow? Of course you have!

Smart mama.

I think it’s an awesome name, but one that must be chosen carefully. I think a strong Germanic background, and a big, sturdy physique (or the likelihood of one) are key. I can’t imagine a waif-ish, wimpy little boy with the name. It’s kind of a lot to live up to.

Oh and I think “Wolfie” is an adorable nickname for him as a child, and “[name]Wolf[/name]” super cool as an adult.
