Hello! I’m writing a mystery story, but I’m struggling to name one of the main characters. Currently I have:
Madeleine (nickname ‘[name_f]Maddie[/name_f]’) - 15
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ([name_f]Maddie[/name_f]’s twin, nickname ‘[name_f]Lena[/name_f]’. She hates the nickname ‘[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]’ - does the nickname [name_f]Lena[/name_f] need explaining?) - 15
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] (no nickname) - 12
The final sister is in the same year as [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lena[/name_f], but they’re not triplets. [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lena[/name_f] have their birthday in mid-[name_u]September[/name_u], whilst their sister is the final day possible to be in their school year, 31st [name_u]August[/name_u]. Anyway, I kind of want something that fits with the names of her older sisters but not fully. I wondered about calling her something [name_f]Rose[/name_f]-related but I’m not sure it works right. The surname is currently [name_u]Harper[/name_u] (though this may change) and their parents are [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u].
I like the names you have! [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Maddie[/name_f]’, [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Lena[/name_f]’, and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and great sisters.
I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] would work best with it as I can’t really see [name_f]Lena[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (though I feel any nn would work as long as it’s explained realistically “I hate the name [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] I much rather prefer a more mature name like [name_f]Lena[/name_f]”
For the oldest sister I suggest a more vintage name like her sister such as:
