Woodrow? Brother of Garnet

[name_f]My[/name_f] baby is due to arrive in two weeks and we are having a heck of a time settling on a name.
[name_f]My[/name_f] two year old sons name is [name_u]Garnet[/name_u] and the latest, unexpected top runner for his little brother is [name_m]Woodrow[/name_m]. What do you think of the name itself and what about [name_u]Garnet[/name_u] and [name_m]Woodrow[/name_m] as a sib. set?

I am surprised at your overwhelmingly encouraging responses. Thanks.

[name_m]Woodrow[/name_m] and [name_u]Garnet[/name_u] feel really cool as a set - unexpected but charming, both sort of feel very in touch with nature, slightly surnamey and underused!

[name_m]Woodrow[/name_m] is an interesting choice - earthy and bold

[name_u]Garnet[/name_u] and [name_m]Woodrow[/name_m] make a surprisingly good sibset! I would never have thought to put them together. They’re both names that should have been traditional or popular, but have stayed inexplicably rare. They sound good together, but definitely not matchy-matchy. No one will get their names mixed up.

Yeah. I think you did good! Team [name_m]Woodrow[/name_m] :raised_hands:

[name_m]Woodrow[/name_m] is usable. Like a lot of other names it has some teasing potential.

There is definitely some concern about Woody being the natural nickname for Woodrow. Personally, I like it. I think Woody is cute but of course I don’t want to set my child up to be an easy target for teasing.

There are plenty of people who are by choice going by Woody. Do you think it’s problematic?

I think [name_m]Woody[/name_m] is usable. Reminds me of [name_m]Toy[/name_m] [name_u]Story[/name_u]. [name_m]Woody[/name_m] can be a vulgar slang, however, and you don’t necessarily want morning put in front of it. Honestly, I think it may never be a problem. Probably also depends on where you live. Lots of names have teasing potential. I think [name_m]Woodrow[/name_m] is ok. It is presidential and if you want there are also other nn possibilities.
