Working with these middles

Hello! I would really like to use these names as middles: [name_f]Alice[/name_f] for a girl. [name_m]Cillian[/name_m] for a boy. Sadly, I cannot use [name_f]Alice[/name_f] as a first. My niece is named [name_u]Allison[/name_u], nicknamed [name_u]Allie[/name_u]. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is a family name on my mother’s side. I adore vintage names and one syllable names for boys and girls. None of the names on my lists seem to flow… What names would you Berries use as firsts?

PS - Last name is a word. So, no word names.

If [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is a family name, I don’t think that your niece can stake her claim on it - plus, it’s not even identical name. I know plenty of cousins who share exact names with each other (three Jacks, all cousins), so [name_f]Alice[/name_f] & [name_u]Allison[/name_u] should be fine, provided they don’t both go by [name_u]Allie[/name_u]. That being said, there are plenty of lovely, vintage names for you to choose from.

This is a bit different, but what about taking the letters of [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and using [name_f]Celia[/name_f]? I adore [name_f]Celia[/name_f], and it’s very sweet and vintage yet timeless.
Otherwise, here are names I love with [name_f]Alice[/name_f] (I adore [name_f]Alice[/name_f] in the middle name spot - I feel that as a first it sounds a bit too close to the ubiquitous [name_u]Alex[/name_u] for me):
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]

[name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Cillian[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Cillian[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Cillian[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Cillian[/name_m]

Best of luck!

I love the suggestion of [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Cillian[/name_m], and I’ve always had a soft spot for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f], nicknamed [name_f]Meg[/name_f] or [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - that would be a nice way to get to your vintage, one-syllable-ers! [name_f]Maude[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Bea[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] are also all gorgeous. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! [name_u]Allie[/name_u] is my only niece and we are close, so using the name [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is definitely out.
I never thought about [name_f]Celia[/name_f]! That’s great!
