I recognize what books all of these are from TBH I don’t think any would work in the first spot and very few would work in the middle so here’s the ones I think could work in the middle:
GIRLS
Terebithia
[name]Avalon[/name] – I actually think this would be okay in the FN spot
BOYS
[name]Bree[/name]
Rivendell
[name]Shire[/name]
Paravel – this one might be able to work in the first spot since it’s so similar so [name]Percival[/name].
Charn
I agree that most place names sounds better as middles ([name]Tori[/name] [name]Amos[/name] has a daughter named [name]Natashya[/name] Lorien, as in Lothlorien, and I think that’s beautiful). [name]Avalon[/name] is really cute, could work as a first!
I like Avonlea and I’ve seen another [name]Berry[/name] post the suggestion Camelot for a girl which I like. When I watched [name]Lord[/name] of the Rings I thought Isildur would be a super cool name, but I didn’t like the movie much (LOTR lovers, don’t kill me! ).
Terebithia- it could make for an interesting alternative to [name]Tabitha[/name].
Wonderland- a little too much, even for an mn.
[name]Oz[/name]- more of a boy’s name to me.
Fantastica- almost makes me think of [name]Anastasia[/name].
Earthsea- kind of conflicting, earth and sea. Sort of like [name]Chelsea[/name], though.
Hobbiton- a little bit odd for a name, but I’d use it for a boy before I used it on a girl.
Gotham- more of a masculine name.
[name]Avalon[/name]- my favourite for the girl’s list. A cool twist on [name]Ava[/name].
[name]Bree[/name]- this already exists as a girl’s name, so I would use it for a girl.
Rivendell- kind of cool, could work on a boy.
Isengard- I’m on the fence about it…
[name]Shire[/name]- this is cool, it could work as a boy name.
[name]Narnia[/name]- the ia part makes it too feminine for a boy’s name.
Archenland- Archen by itself could be a cool boy’s name.
Paravel- sounds like a cool, exotic name. My favourite for the boys names.
Grimmauld- sounds kind of, well, grim.
Charn- I don’t like the sound of it.
Camelot- could be cool.
[name]Avalon[/name] is the only one I’d consider. Although I like [name]Aveline[/name], Avelaine, [name]Aviana[/name], [name]Ava[/name], etc. all better than [name]Avalon[/name]. I love The Chronicles of [name]Narnia[/name], like, to death, I grew up on the books and I still am massively in love with them, haha, I reread them all now and again. That being said, I don’t think [name]Narnia[/name] makes for a very good name. There are the nns [name]Ari[/name] and [name]Nia[/name] that could be pretty usable, though. But [name]Narnia[/name] seems pretty pretentious to me. I think even Aslan would be more usable than [name]Narnia[/name]…
[name]Love[/name] them. I don’t think any of them except perhaps [name]Avalon[/name] could work as a FN. They all firmly belong in the MN guilty pleasures for me. I also like Prydain for a boy MN. I don’t think I would ever use any of them, but if I did, it would be Terebithia, [name]Avalon[/name], [name]Shire[/name], Paravel and of course Prydain. I love book inspired names. I’ve always thought Eyre would be a fun tribute to [name]Jane[/name] Eyre as a middle name as well.
