We are expecting #2 in a few weeks and do not know what we are having. But the fact that we are not sure on a girls name makes me think we are having a girl.
My DD’s name is [name]Zoe[/name] [name]Ryan[/name]- we loved the name [name]Zoe[/name] from the start and [name]Ryan[/name] is my maiden name. We like the name [name]Izzy[/name] for a girl (just like how [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Izzy[/name] go together without beginning with the same letter) but my DH wants a full name (not just [name]Izzy[/name]) which I agree with. We thought we would go with [name]Isabel[/name], but am worried that it is too overdone with the popularity of [name]Isabella[/name]. (I know its not the same, but sounds close enough).
I also do not want to do [name]Elizabeth[/name]/[name]Eliza[/name]/[name]Isadora[/name] for various reasons.
The other name that we like (and we have for a while) is [name]Harper[/name], but am worried that is too trendy/popular too!
[name]Isabella[/name] is in the top 5 I believe. Popularity has never bothered me though. Although, my children will probably being going to a small [name]Christian[/name] school in our town vs. a public school, so they will probably have a much smaller chance of having other children in their grade with the same name. If it is what you both really love and feels right just go with it! [name]Harper[/name] is also popular and I do not think it is nearly as pretty as [name]Isabel[/name]/[name]Izzy[/name]. Good luck! I love the name [name]Zoe[/name] by the way it is currently number 3 on my list!!
You could always go for [name]Isadora[/name], which isn’t that popular, and it’s beautiful (in my opinion)
[name]Harper[/name] is lovely as well, but it is a bot popular. [name]Isabel[/name] is gorgeous as well, and I think that if you love it go for it!
[name]Isabel[/name] isn’t that popular imo, you can check the popularity in your state to see the ranking. [name]Zoe[/name], and [name]Isabel[/name] is great.
I’m bias (because I am one), but I love [name]Isabel[/name]. The [name]Isobel[/name] spelling is great as well and less common. [name]Harper[/name] is a name that I’m bored of. I hear it everywhere these days, but [name]Isabel[/name] has a classic feel that keeps it from dating. I’d go with that.
Oh whoops just realized you vetod [name]Isadora[/name]. I think if you want something not super popular- I would definitely start from scratch because [name]Isabella[/name] is one of the most popular right now across the country in general I think!
Could you get [name]Izzy[/name] from [name]Elizabeth[/name]? i know you can get [name]Lizzy[/name]… or is that too much of a stretch? i haven’t meant ANY Harpers but then i’m only just pregnant and this is my first so i havent spent a lot time around youngsters and what their names are at all! I mean in my year one of my friends, [name]Eva[/name], she was the only [name]Eva[/name] and it was quite a rare name! and now there seems to be Evas and Avas everywhere! i think if you are really set on [name]Isobel[/name] (so pretty!) then go with it!
[name]Isabel[/name]/[name]Isobel[/name] - beautiful, classic. [name]Isabeau[/name] is a great one too. [name]Isabella[/name], imo, is like heavy perfume. Sometimes I like it, but it’s so strongly feminine. [name]Isobel[/name]/[name]Isabel[/name] is popular, but I wouldn’t say trendy. [name]Harper[/name] might be trendy.
I think of [name]Isobel[/name], [name]Isabelle[/name], ect is all pretty much the same so I consider those names quite popular, but if you love it you shouldn’t let that stop you. I do think it’s the most logical way to get to [name]Izzy[/name].
While [name]Isobel[/name] is popular, I think its less popular than [name]Isabella[/name]. Also its popular but in a less “trendy right now” way than [name]Harper[/name] is.
I think [name]Isobel[/name] is timeless and beautiful, I’d go with it if you love it
I like both [name]Isabel[/name]/[name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Harper[/name]. I think that they’re both going to fluctuate in popularity wherever you go, (neither are popular in my area, but I know they can be very common in others) so I think you should just go for whichever name you really love. I think we all wish certain names were less popular than they are, but ultimately I think that it shouldn’t stop you from using the name you love.
Personally, [name]Zoe[/name] [name]Ryan[/name] and [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Harper[/name] (nn [name]Izzy[/name]) sound like perfect sisters. Popularity is secondary. If you love those names, you should use them. But if the popularity is too much, I love the idea of [name]Isolde[/name] [name]Harper[/name] (nn [name]Izzy[/name]) or [name]Isotta[/name] [name]Harper[/name]. There’s something about [name]Zoe[/name] and [name]Isolde[/name].
I wouldn’t let the popularity stop you. It’s a great name and since [name]Zoe[/name] is fairly popular too (not as much, but still top 50), it’s not like they’ll be wildly mismatched. [name]Isabel[/name]'s a great name and pairs really well with [name]Zoe[/name]. I prefer it over [name]Harper[/name]. I think [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Harper[/name] is a brilliant suggestion.
