Would a boy feel emasculated with this name?

Text deleted.

Absolutely not.

I know or know of about three to five Camerons (of various spellings), and all of them are boys. I’ve never met a girl [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] (of any spelling). They all wear the name extraordinarily well, and none seem bothered by its unisex nature. (Ages 8, 11, and 25, ish, off the top of my head, of the three I can think of most clearly. I’m sure I’ve met others, but those are the three that come to mind.) It’s super handsome, and definitely still usable! [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] is a very lovely, traditional name. Any boy would be lucky to have it for his own!

I have known several boy Camerons and have never met any girl Camerons. The ones I remember during my school aged years were never made fun of because of their names. I actually didn’t even realize this was a unisex name until this post!

Btw: I’m 22 and knew several Camerons my age, 4 years ahead of me and 4 years behind. I know of one child named Cameron now and he is 2. Hope this helps!

Absolutely not! I definitely prefer [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] on a boy. I have known maybe one of each gender. I love [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] for a boy! I think [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] would be very handsome and totally masculine.

I don’t like [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] for a girl. It’s a boy’s name to me.

No way! I’ve only ever met boy [name_u]Cameron[/name_u]'s. To me, it’s only a boys name. Using it as a girls name feels like calling a girl [name_u]James[/name_u]. You can, but it’s a boys name.

I agree with previous posters, I see [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] as a boys’ name that is sometimes given to girls. I don’t think he would have any reason to feel emasculated at all. I’ve met a couple Camerons in their late 20’s and one who’s about 10, all boys. I do know one woman called [name_u]Camryn[/name_u] though.

I know personally or know of exactly two Camerons–one is a boy and one is a girl, my niece. My niece spells it Kameryn and goes by [name_f]Kami[/name_f] mostly. Her spelling looks very girly to me, but the traditional spelling seems all boy.

If girls can handle having unisex names, I’m sure boys can too.

Absolutely not! I have heard it used much more on boys. I’ve actually only heard of one girl [name_u]Cameron[/name_u]. It’s all boy to me.

[name_u]Cameron[/name_u] is 100% boy. I have only known/met males (varying ages) with the name, I live in the US.

I had to look-up the rankings. In 2015 [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] ranked 56 for boys, 530 for girls.

I know several male [name_u]Cameron[/name_u]/[name_u]Camron[/name_u]'s, and one female [name_u]Cameron[/name_u]. All of the males go by [name_u]Cam[/name_u], the girl goes by [name_f]Cammy[/name_f] (which I personally don’t like, but she didn’t have many options - [name_f]Meri[/name_f], maybe?). I find [name_u]Cam[/name_u] to be more masculine so I think there is absolutely nothing to worry about!

Why would he? I think the meaning itself brings to mind a masculine image, not to mention [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] is traditionally a boy’s name.
