Would a boy feel emasculated with this name?

Text deleted.

I think of [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] as a unisex name. I’ve known only one boy [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] and the only girl [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] I can think of is [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_u]Diaz[/name_u]. If you love the name go for it! I don’t think at all it is emasculating.

It’s a unisex name, definitely. I like [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]. It flows well!

I can only think of two Camerons I know/know of personally off the top of my head.

One is my younger brother who is 16. The other I’m not sure about the age of (believe she was born when I was in the… second grade?) a former teacher’s daughter named Kamiryn.

the only Camerons I know of are boys, so no I don’t think so. I’ve known around five and I guess the youngest one I know would be in middle school now.

I only know two Camerons, a girl and a boy
[name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] is a nice combination

What a weird question. Why would it be “emasculating” for a boy to be given a name that he could potentially share with girls?

I personally know more male Camerons! And even if it was more common on girls, it’s not like it matters that much, he’s not going to feel “emasculated”.

[name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_u]Diaz[/name_u] is of course a well known female [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], but I thought first of [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] of Modern Family, who is a man.
Also, I hope your child grows up with a strong enough confidence in his (or her, you never know) gender that having a unisex name will not scar them for life.

I like [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] on a boy so much better! I only know two [name_u]Cameron[/name_u]'s and both are males and have never had any problem with their names

I associate it first with a man and quite like the name as well. I’m a big fan of unisex names anyway.

Definitely not! [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] has always been more popular for boys than for girls.

I see [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] initally is a boys name anyway, and [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] is a nice strong masculine combo

Where I live [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] would not be considered a unisex name (objectively people are aware that there are female Camerons in the world, but it would certainly raise eyebrows to meet one around here!).

[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name for a boy. I really don’t see how it would ‘emasculate’ him unless he’s been taught that being a girl is a bad thing?

The spelling [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] is 100% boy to me. The only females with the name that I’ve encountered are Camryn/Kamryn.

[name_m]Even[/name_m] if a name is unisex, I think it’s highly unlikely that a child would feel emasculated by it, unless, like others have said, he’s being taught to feel that way.

[name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] is lovely.

It’s definitely unisex, but all the Camerons I know are boys.

Not sure why a boy would feel “emasculated” by having a name that is, at the most, decidedly unisex. It’s not like you’re considering naming him [name_f]Sue[/name_f].

I would assume a [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] is probably male. The only [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] I can think of that I know personally is my cousin’s son, [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m]. He’s about seven.

I only know boy Camerons, so was really expecting something more girly after seeing the title (boy named [name_f]Sue[/name_f]?). I think you are perfectly fine with a boy [name_u]Cameron[/name_u].

Not at all emasculating. I know a male [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] in his mid 30s and a female who is 18 or 19. [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], [name_m]John[/name_m], and [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] are all great names.

I know at least three Camerons, around 15 yrs old. They’re all boys. Never met a girl [name_u]Cameron[/name_u].

My 13 year old nephew is a [name_u]Cameron[/name_u]. I’ve known 1 other male [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] growing up, and a girl [name_u]Kamryn[/name_u] who is about 5. I definitely consider it a unisex name, and [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] is a very nice combination.
