Would Ada's sister need a short name, too?

[name_m]Just[/name_m] curious on what you guys think! I know that not everyone feels strongly about “sibsets”, but would it be a bit odd if a girl named [name_f]Ada[/name_f] had a sister with a longer name like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] or [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]? [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is our front-runner girl name and I was just going around thinking about whether or not I would be trapping myself into a theme of sorts by using that name.

No. I actually really like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] with both of those names.

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] is vintage so for me a weird pairing would be something like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Brittany[/name_f]. But because it’s all personal preference that could still work.

I don’t think so. I like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] with both of those names also.

No I don’t think so. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] & [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is a great sibset because they’re both classic and spunky, though I do think [name_f]Ada[/name_f] & [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] may be a bit long. I really like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] from your signature!

Agreed with all the pps, [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is fine with a longer name as long as the styles match up. It’s such a cute name, by the way! I’ve really warmed up to [name_f]Ada[/name_f] (and [name_u]Asa[/name_u] for boys, but they’re too similar to be siblings.) [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] would be cute, as would [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], or [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f].

Not at all.

Thanks, everyone! Your input helps out a lot!

I would say no, if you have a [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and then a [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. But, if you had a [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and a (example) [name_f]Rose[/name_f], that is when a longer name may stand out more.

I don’t think so, however, I think the longer the name, the more grounded it has to feel. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], for example, feel mismatched to me as [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is short, to the point, very feminine but not frilly while [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]'s length adds to the frilly princessy vibe it already has.
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f], however, would be a wonderful sister to [name_f]Ada[/name_f].

Not really. It would bug me personally, but I don’t think that applies to most. I actually regret creating hang ups about sibset name length, as it’s hard to break the habit now, and can really limit options. Whoops!
