[name_f]My[/name_f] SO and I finally found another girl name we like. We have both liked [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and have just recently discovered [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]. Our favorite boy names are [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] and August/Augustus. [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] is our #1. [name_f]My[/name_f] concern is if we had [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] as our kids names, would [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] be left out because [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] and [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] both end in the -en sound? [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] would most likely go by [name_u]Sol[/name_u] most of the time but occasionally by [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]. We really like [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] but not the nicknames. Am I overthinking this?
Would August/Augustus or [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] work better?
I think you are over thinking this. [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] are a fine sibling set. The other two names would work as well, but go with the name you like best.
I think theyâre totally fine as a set! Definitely donât think [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] would be left out. If anything, [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] feels like the âdifferent oneâ as the only brother? But thatâs naturally out of our earthly control anyway! I wouldnât sweat it too much.
The names all sound great together, if anything I would personally find it a little repetitive if all three ended with an N.
Also, three future names are a lot to bank on. I think youâd make it easier for yourself to just worry about what you like for this baby, or just see how your top two would sound together as opposed to three or more? I can relate to the strong want for a great sibset, but remember too that your tastes could change after subsequent children (my own names have changed like crazy just within this one pregnancy)
Totally fine! [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] are great together. Theyâre all three syllables and they all contain o and n - Fionaâs are just in a different position.
I think they actually go together well! They all have three syllables and they each start with a different letter. Plus [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] both have Celtic roots.
Since [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] are all so distinctive and individual, I think it works just fine and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] wouldnât feel left out!
I love [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. I think that [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] & [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] are perfect together. The ânâ ending thing is not an issue at all. The names go beautifully together stylistically in my opinion. Theyâre all strong but not too harsh, well known but interesting & not too common. Old fashioned but feel fresh. All sorts of good things!
As a side note, I prefer [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] to [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] personally as well, but Iâm a bit obsessed with [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]?
[name_u]Sol[/name_u], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] & [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] would be amazing.
I donât know that I care for [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] much. I donât know why, but I just donât like the sound of the word & it is very wordy to me. [name_u]August[/name_u] is lovely; [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] isnât as pretty in my opinion. [name_u]August[/name_u] is a lot more popular than [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] though, if that matters to you.
