I feel the same way, like itâs not ârightâ for a baby in our family. However I did read that it is from the Greek root evangelos which is more about actual good news than religious âgood newsâ.
That made me feel better about it. I also found that using the parental block to remove the televangelism stations from my tv keeps the word out of my headâŚ
Itâs so interesting that you posted this question, because I had the same thought! I love the name [name]Evangeline[/name], but I am not [name]Christian[/name]. The religious association was enough to make me decide against using it, but I think it is totally a personal choice for you. If it doesnât bother you, then it shouldnât bother anyone else. (P.S. I love the nickname [name]Evie[/name]!)
I like this name, but I have the same problem with it. Iâm also considering nixing [name]Benedict[/name] too, even though I love it.
