Would JOG make awful initials?

If our baby is a boy [name]Jack[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] is a front runner, we have a G last name which would leave him with JOG as initials. Is it terrible to have initials spell a word? My husband is JAG and he could care less, I feel like that’s way worse than JOG but worry I’m in denial because I really like the name. or maybe I’m over thinking.

overthinking, although I think it’s a completely normal concern. JOG is fine, it’s not STD or PIG. You’re safe with this one.

It’s a complete non-issue.

I don’t see JOG as an issue at all.

You’re over thinking it…

Yeah, no problem with JOG. Yes, it’s a word, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the word. Go for it!

There is nothing wrong at all with those initials. When I was younger, my friends and I figured out what our initials spelled and I was totally jealous of my friends whose initials spelled at actual word (because mine didn’t). I really think the initials concern is [name]WAY[/name] overrated. As long as it’s not an actual word that means something really really terrible, it’s totally fine.

JOG is perfectly fine! I think most kids like t when they have a word for their initials and JOG is not a negative word by any means. It could be really cute if he ended up running track

JOG is fine. Nobody will pick up on it, and even if they do… it’s not something to be teased about.

I’m one who pays a lot of attention (probably too much) to initials and mongrams, and JOG wouldn’t bother me a bit. I don’t think you need to worry about it.

I think it’s fine- it’s not like it’s an offensive word or anything.

If you’re really concerned, you could do what my grandparents did with my mother: they wanted to call her [name]June[/name] [name]Alison[/name] (after [name]June[/name] [name]Allyson[/name] the 50s actress) but it would mean her initials would be JAW. So they changed it to [name]Alison[/name] [name]June[/name] W but she’s known by her middle name ([name]June[/name]).

You could always invert the [name]Jack[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] and make it [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Jack[/name] G- but still call him [name]Jack[/name].

Like I said though, a word like JOG isn’t a big deal at all [name]IMO[/name]. Very cute name choices

Nah, not a problem. [name]One[/name] of my best friend’s intials are MEN and she never had a problem, so I doubt JOG would cause any issues. I think that initials spelling words are kind of cute, actually, something to chuckle about.

I don’t think initials are an issue unless they spell out something negative - and I don’t really see anything negative about “jog”.

Thank you, all of you are making me feel much better :). This will probably result in another post between our two top boy picks trying to figure out which is better. JOG is growing on me!
