We are expecting a sister for [name]Leo[/name] this fall. I would describe or style as classic, “real” names that aren’t too common but won’t cause pronunciation or spelling issues. Some of these names are becoming popular and I am a bit nervous about baby girl sharing her name with 5 other girls at school. I would be interested to hear thoughts on the list and suggestions to fit the style. MN is not picked yet either - will depend on her first name.
You’re list is lovely! I’m in love with [name]Hazel[/name] and I think [name]Vivienne[/name], [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name] are great as well. The only ones on there I don’t like are [name]Iris[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] and there’s no good reason for that. If you’re looking to use middle names from that list as well then I think something like [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name], [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] or [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] could all be very sweet.
I don’t think any of these are popular enough that there will multiples in one class. I vote for [name]Pearl[/name] or [name]Iris[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name] - love and goes great with [name]Leo[/name]
[name]Iris[/name] - very pretty, simple but classy
[name]Cecilia[/name] - pretty
[name]Eliza[/name] - not bad
[name]Eloise[/name] - meh
[name]Aurelia[/name] - pretty name, but much fancier than [name]Leo[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] - meh
[name]Vivienne[/name] - I’m not fond of the viv names
[name]Isla[/name] - nms
[name]Francesca[/name] - bleh
I’m a huge fan of both [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name]. As for [name]Pearl[/name], I feel as long as Spongebob is popular, it’s a “no”.
[name]Aurelia[/name] is pretty but I’ve heard it mispronounced so many times. This could be a slight drawback. Though it does hold some great nickname potential.
Lastly, I know many girls named [name]Francesca[/name] and while I think it’s very beautiful as a middle name, I’ve been told it can be quite an unfortunate first name if you’re uncomfortable with the idea of being called “[name]Fran[/name]” or “[name]Franny[/name]”.
I hope this was helpful and you find the perfect name for [name]Leo[/name]'s little sister. c:
[name]Hazel[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] this!
[name]Vivienne[/name] - Cute, but not my personal favorite
[name]Pearl[/name] - Like
[name]Iris[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] this!
[name]Isla[/name] - Cute, like the sounds
[name]Francesca[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like
[name]Cecilia[/name] - OK
[name]Aurelia[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like
[name]Eloise[/name] - Cute
[name]Eliza[/name] - Cute (I love the thought of [name]Eliza[/name] Doolittle)
Thanks for the input! I agree that [name]Aurelia[/name] is pretty but everyone seems to pronounce it differently and that would bother me. I might have to give up on [name]Francesca[/name] too - I don’t mine [name]Franny[/name] but my husband suggested [name]Frankie[/name] as a nn which I don’t like one bit (not a fan of masculine nn on girls).
Beautiful–you get ten out of ten for pretty names and good taste [name]IMO[/name].
[name]Hazel[/name] - Pretty, unfussy, lovely girls name. I like it especially as a sister for [name]Leo[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name] - Most everyone is in love with this name, and that’s super. I like it, but am not in love.
[name]Pearl[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name], but I think it’s a little too shy sounding for [name]Leo[/name]'s sister.
[name]Iris[/name] - Has the same punchy zip that [name]Leo[/name] has. Also one of my favorite names of all time.
[name]Isla[/name] - Getting very popular, might sound good as [name]Leo[/name]'s sib, though. Not as much substance as your other names, though.
[name]Francesca[/name] - Nice, beautiful, and a little sultry.
[name]Cecilia[/name] - Very good.
[name]Aurelia[/name] - has the same cool, continental appeal of [name]Leo[/name].
[name]Eloise[/name] - Gorgeous, but without some of the dazzle of [name]Leo[/name]. I’d still use it though. It just “works” so well!
[name]Eliza[/name] - Not a favorite of mine. Although, [name]Liza[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] sound awesome together.
[name]Hazel[/name]- sweet and cute, full of vintage charm, would work well at any age. though i’m seeing it more on the boards…
[name]Vivienne[/name]- I only like this pronounced to rhyme with “men”. It’s lovely and that spelling feels a bit exotic.
[name]Pearl[/name]- cute, though nms. It’s being talked about a lot more though, so it might become popular…
[name]Iris[/name]- my least favourite on your list. too stiff and a bit prissy
[name]Isla[/name]- lovely! very cute and sweet but i could still see it on an adult. but seems to be quite popular in the UK
[name]Francesca[/name]- exotic with European flair, gorgeous! You might like the nicknames [name]Chessie[/name] or Cesca (prn. ches-ca).
[name]Cecilia[/name]- beautiful with old-fashioned charm, reminds me of a 19th century British lady of nobility
[name]Aurelia[/name]- same as [name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]- cute and sweet, but a bit snobby to me
[name]Eliza[/name]- nice, prim, proper. I actually think [name]Elizabeth[/name] has more flair; prefer it to [name]Eliza[/name]
Your names are wonderful! My favourite is [name]Francesca[/name], followed by [name]Aurelia[/name] and then [name]Cecilia[/name].
[name]Iris[/name] and [name]Pearl[/name] are my favorites for sure and both sound great with [name]Leo[/name]. The rest are all good too but [name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Isla[/name] would sound weird with [name]Leo[/name] imo.
