I have been looking at baby names for a while and I keep changing the combinations and which ones I like so I would appreciate some input. The two girls names that I like are: [name\_f]Maple[/name\_f] Menorah [name\_f]Easter[/name\_f] [name\_f]Galilee[/name\_f] All opinions are welcome! Thanks Berries! EDIT: On second thoughts Menorah is heavily Jewish so I will not use this. I still want to use Easter and Maple but need mn suggestions. I like the names:- Penelope, Clementine, Artemis, Story, Vivienne and Bethlehem. Thanks. ---

[name\_f]Maple[/name\_f] Menorah makes me think of some kind of Jewish cartoon squirrel teaching kids about the meaning of Hannukkah. I don’t dislike [name\_f]Easter[/name\_f] as a first name, but [name\_f]Galilee[/name\_f] seems silly. I agree with an above poster who says it seems like you’re trying to hard. ---

If you’re set on a no-so-subtle religious reference, then I would pick one name and pair it with something a little less capital R religious. I like [name\_f]Easter[/name\_f], but not with [name\_f]Galilee[/name\_f], maybe another biblical but more universal name. I’m assuming you are [name\_m]Christian[/name\_m] (mainly because I’m having a hard time envisioning a practicing Jewish person considering the name [name\_f]Easter[/name\_f]), which gives you a lot of options. Thanks for the input! I am [name\_m]Christian[/name\_m] yes and I do like [name\_f]Ruth[/name\_f] but it is my step mum’s name so I wouldn’t use it. I’m glad you said [name\_f]Eve[/name\_f] as I thought of that but didn’t know about the E-E initial. I actually really like the name [name\_u]Eden[/name\_u] and Bethlehem is lovely but didn’t know how people would react to it! Bethlehem [name\_f]Eve[/name\_f] or [name\_f]Easter[/name\_f] Bethlehem are divine. I’ll consult and think a lot about your suggestions. Thanks again! ---

So… one child to be named Menorah and another to be named [name\_f]Easter[/name\_f] in the same family. I think naming your kids to reflect your religious beliefs is fine and even normal in my culture, but it seems inconsistent to me. I have known many Jewish people in my life, but I don’t think I know any who would name their kids Menorah. (To me it’s like using Christmastree or Easteregg as middles.) To me it seems like a little mocking, and not genuine. I am not sure what your religious beliefs actually are. I like [name\_f]Maple[/name\_f] and [name\_f]Easter[/name\_f] is not my style, but usable. I don’t like the middle names as much. The person above had some good suggestions. There are some beautiful names that mean [name\_f]Easter[/name\_f]–[name\_u]Pascale[/name\_u], Paschalia, [name\_f]Anastasia[/name\_f]. (The word [name\_f]Pascha[/name\_f] literally means Passover, but it’s the older word for [name\_f]Easter[/name\_f] and still used in Greek, Russian, and the Orthodox churches. [name\_f]Anastasia[/name\_f] means resurrection.) I would avoid combining two word-names. “[name\_f]Bethany[/name\_f] [name\_f]Faith[/name\_f]” is lovely, but “[name\_f]Easter[/name\_f] [name\_f]Galilee[/name\_f]” feels way over-the-top cutesy-religious. I think [name\_f]Maple[/name\_f] is cute–I prefer it as a middle, but it is darling. [name\_f]Galilee[/name\_f] isn’t a bad middle, but it’s a very strong association. I could see something simple like “[name\_f]Anna[/name\_f] [name\_f]Galilee[/name\_f]” working. I like religious names, but I can’t imagine a lawyer, physician, or senator named [name\_f]Easter[/name\_f] [name\_m]Jones[/name\_m]. I’m not saying her name would prevent her, just that it’d be an odd juxtaposition. I suspect that anyone religiously Jewish might object to a little [name\_m]Christian[/name\_m] girl whose middle name was Menorah. It’s also a very powerful association. I would not want it as my middle name. [name\_f]Maple[/name\_f] [name\_f]Anastasia[/name\_f] or [name\_f]Maple[/name\_f] [name\_u]Pascale[/name\_u] would be very sweet but not so gimmicky. I like pp’s suggestion of [name\_f]Bethany[/name\_f] or [name\_f]Jubilee[/name\_f]. ---

Thanks for your inputs! It is the middle names that I have struggled with and Menorah came when I was looking at longer names for [name\_f]Minnie[/name\_f] and I like what it stands for but yes, on second thoughts I think the Jewish symbolism is too much! I’m having a hard time thinking of names that I like that go with [name\_f]Maple[/name\_f]. Other names that I like are [name\_f]Clementine[/name\_f], [name\_f]Vivienne[/name\_f], [name\_u]Artemis[/name\_u], [name\_u]Story[/name\_u], [name\_f]Penelope[/name\_f], Bethlehem. Any way that these could fit in? ---

[name\_f]Maple[/name\_f] will always be a syrup-y version of [name\_f]Mabel[/name\_f]. And [name\_f]Easter[/name\_f] reminds me of Lent, which reminds me of lint. ---
