[name]Hi[/name],
We are struggling with names and would love to know what people think of some we are considering. We have a daughter already who we called Teya.
It would be better to avoid the same ending sound with the children’s names eg [name]Carver[/name] and [name]Packer[/name] rhyme with Teya. I do like [name]Jake[/name] and [name]Chase[/name] but prefer [name]Jake[/name] and I would use [name]Jacob[/name] as the full name nn of [name]Jake[/name].
It looks like you want a nice short name so here are a few ideas.
[name]Cruz[/name]
[name]Clint[/name]
[name]Zane[/name]
[name]Dane[/name]
[name]Jem[/name] nn for [name]James[/name]
[name]Edward[/name] nn [name]Ned[/name] or [name]Ted[/name]
[name]Ward[/name]
[name]Milo[/name] ( a lovely choice), [name]Milo[/name] and Teya works perfectly
[name]Rocco[/name]
[name]Grey[/name]
[name]Reid[/name]
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Dante[/name] (love this but a little matchy with Teya maybe a good middle?)
[name]Brent[/name]
[name]River[/name]
[name]Felix[/name]
[name]Connor[/name]
[name]Liam[/name]
[name]Griffin[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name]
[name]Devon[/name]
[name]Tate[/name]
I love [name]Chase[/name]. I had it on my list but my husband vetoed. [name]Jed[/name] reminds me of someone southern so it doesnt’ seem to go well with Teya to my ear. I also worry that [name]Packer[/name] would lead to quite a bit of teasing (think of a homophobic slang term), so I’d avoid that name. From others’ lists, [name]Cruz[/name] seems like a good pick as well.
@[name]Rollo[/name]-- in an American accent, where the R is clearly pronounced, Teya and [name]Carver[/name]/[name]Packer[/name] sound quite different.
I think [name]Packer[/name] absolutely has to be eliminated-- think ‘fudge packer.’ [name]Carver[/name] is interesting, as a possible homage to the writer or to [name]George[/name] [name]Washington[/name] [name]Carver[/name], but it is a little bit violent what with the common verb ‘carve’ meaning to slice up.
[name]Jed[/name] & [name]Jake[/name] sound a little short and incomplete; perhaps [name]Jacoby[/name] or [name]Santiago[/name]?
[name]Packer[/name] has too much teasing potential. Maybe [name]Parker[/name]? [name]Carver[/name] is too violent sounding for me as well. [name]Jed[/name] is too redneck and where I live it is a bit of a joke name. [name]Chase[/name] is ok, but I know a couple of dogs with the name, so it is kind of ruined for me.
[name_m]Carver[/name_m] is a family name and I absolutely love it. I don’t really see any teasing potential at all? I think it’s a great alternative to the popular [name_u]Carter[/name_u].
