Sooo we are expecting our first this [name_f]July[/name_f]…found out last week it’s a BOY! I’ve got several girls names that I’m in love with but nothing I really like for a boy. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I have been on the same page for girls so I know we have similar tastes. We’d like to narrow it down to 2 or 3 top choices by the time he arrives, and then pick the final after we see him for the first time. Unfortunately, I’m hopelessly in the land of indifference to all of my most “favorite” boy names.
Soooo would love some help from all of you name nerds and experts We would like to choose something different, but not off the wall, quirky but will be well accepted, no difficult pronunciations or spellings…I am really into fantasy sci-fi so not against a name from that genre, not into biblical or religious names. [name_f]My[/name_f] family is Greek and Scottish, and he is Italian and [name_m]French[/name_m] Canadian so anything from those cultures would work. We are choosing a unique first name and plan to pick a family related middle name such as [name_u]Murphy[/name_u], [name_m]Richard[/name_m], [name_m]Gordon[/name_m], [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_m]Zander[/name_m] (my mom’s name is [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]). Our last name is Italian, begins with “P” and ends with “o” (with that said, we are wary of choosing an overly Italian sounding first name). Here is my list to give you an idea of what we sort of like, though none of these so far seem to really be “the one”…
Also, my choices for a future girl include [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], Elexa, [name_m]Tallis[/name_m], and [name_f]Nyx[/name_f]. Thanks so much for reading!
Thanks! I really like [name_u]Roan[/name_u], [name_m]Axel[/name_m], and [name_m]Stellan[/name_m]. Actually [name_m]Axel[/name_m] has been on my list but I was concerned that it was becoming too popular, which I want to avoid, but it’s definitely one I’ve liked for awhile
[name_u]Love[/name_u] @[name_f]Polina[/name_f]'s list! I was going to say [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] too. [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] would be my first choice!! It’s my son’s middle name & my friend recently had a baby boy she named [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u].
@[name_f]Polina[/name_f]'s suggestion of [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] is also a good one!
If you like [name_m]Zander[/name_m] & Zavien, you might like [name_m]Zaidan[/name_m], [name_m]Zarren[/name_m], [name_m]Zavier[/name_m], or [name_m]Zane[/name_m].
If you like [name_m]Axel[/name_m], you might like [name_m]Ace[/name_m].
If you like [name_m]Torin[/name_m], you may like [name_m]Topher[/name_m]. Or instead of Tauric, how about [name_u]Tatum[/name_u], [name_m]Taiden[/name_m] or [name_u]Teagan[/name_u]?
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband’s favorite boy’s name is Mazin (nn Maz), & I know a Maziar, so maybe either of those would appeal to you?
Hopefully some of these help. Congratulations & good luck in your decision!!
I love all the suggestions above, sorry for repeats
[name_m]Theon[/name_m]
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
[name_m]Caius[/name_m]
[name_m]Bodhi[/name_m]
Loras
[name_m]Sirius[/name_m]
[name_m]Remus[/name_m]
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]
[name_m]Bastian[/name_m]
[name_m]Jax[/name_m]
[name_m]Saxon[/name_m]
Good luck xx
Since you love [name_m]Axel[/name_m], but are worried about the popularity, what about [name_m]Aksel[/name_m]. It’s pronounced with more of an ahk-sul,than [name_m]Axe[/name_m]-el, and seems much more classic.
I don’t care for Iver but I do like Ivan. In the interst of something different how about Thor? Also, I like Atlas. I’m a fan of Damien but that might
be a little too blah for your tastes.
I love [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]! We both woke up this morning thinking about [name_m]Ronin[/name_m], if we choose that one maybe we’ll use Augusts as the middle, though it doesn’t have a family connection I think it sounds nice together. Or maybe we’ll go for [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] as the first name, nn [name_m]Augie[/name_m] or [name_u]Gus[/name_u]…thanks
[name_f]My[/name_f] sister is a big advocate for [name_m]Thor[/name_m]! I do like the name but feel it may be too commercialized due to the recent movies…I love [name_m]Damien[/name_m] too but we have a cousin with that name so probably don’t want to repeat. Definitely like [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] and added it to my potential middles names
[name_f]My[/name_f] sons name is [name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_m]Miles[/name_m]. He too was named after my mother - [name_f]Sandra[/name_f].
The other name we had on our list at the time was [name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_m]Griffin[/name_m]. People seem to really love his name, a modern twist on an old classic. Also honours your mother and your Greek heritage.
