Would love some opinions!

I am looking at boy names right now for a second child. Boy names were so hard for my son, so I feel like I need to start early this time  My son’s name is [name]Everett[/name] [name]Callan[/name]. Our last name is [name]Cochran[/name], and I have a hard time finding names that go well with it. It is such a heavy sounding name. I would love your opinions on some of these names. I try to avoid popular names, but we want the names to still be recognizable. You don’t have to comment on every one, but if there are any you love or hate, I would love to know. Thank you so much for your time!
[name]Ian[/name]- my husband’s favorite, but is it too popular?
[name]Malachi[/name]- love [name]Mal[/name] or [name]Kai[/name] for nn
[name]Ezra[/name]
[name]Nathanael[/name]- nn [name]Nat[/name] or [name]Nate[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name]- we both like this, but it’s becoming a girl name? [name]Do[/name] you think it’s still manly enough?
[name]Ronan[/name]- like it, but it’s a little heavy with our last name
[name]Phelan[/name]- like the meaning, not sure about the name
[name]Kai[/name]
[name]Desmond[/name]
[name]Boone[/name]
I am open to other suggestions! [name]Noah[/name] and [name]Jonah[/name] would go well with our name, but i have bad name associations with them. Thanks again!

[name]Ian[/name]- i have never liked this name, it seems wimpy to me
[name]Malachi[/name]- its cute, i like the mal or kai for a nn
[name]Ezra[/name]- i really do not like this name
[name]Nathanael[/name]- its still common enough, but no over used, cute name
[name]Quinn[/name]- reminds me of dr quinn medicine woman lol
[name]Ronan[/name]- very cute
kai- i see this name alot on here, i like it alot, but maybe more for a middle name
desmond- i like this, not too common
[name]Boone[/name]- not so sure about this one, maybe better for a middle name also

dezi
ryatt
river
ezekiel

[name]Ian[/name]- I love this name! It’s getting up there but I don’t think it’s TOO popular right now. Depends on your definition of too popular though.
[name]Malachi[/name]- I like it and really like the nn [name]Kai[/name].
[name]Ezra[/name] - It’s ok.
[name]Nathanael[/name]- Prefer the [name]Nathaniel[/name] spelling. I like the nn [name]Nate[/name].
[name]Quinn[/name]- In 2010 it was only about 15 spots lower for a boy than for a girl. I think it’s rising more for girls, but I think it’s still usable for a boy.
[name]Ronan[/name]- I really like this name but I agree it doesn’t sound quite right with your last name.
[name]Phelan[/name]- I’m not familiar with this name at all. Not sure if I like the sound of it.
[name]Kai[/name] - I like it as a nn for something longer… not sure what.
[name]Desmond[/name] - A nice name but NMS.
[name]Boone[/name] - Really doesn’t seem to fit with your other names. I don’t like it. Maybe as a middle if it has meaning to you.

[name]Julian[/name] [name]Gray[/name] [name]Cochran[/name]
[name]Nathan[/name] [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Cochran[/name]
[name]Daniel[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] [name]Cochran[/name]
[name]Aidan[/name] [name]Pierce[/name] [name]Cochran[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] these spark some inspiration …

There are a lot of “k” sounds with [name]Malachi[/name], [name]Quinn[/name], and [name]Kai[/name] [name]Cochran[/name], so I, personally, wouldn’t use them. I like [name]Ian[/name] and [name]Ezra[/name] best with your last name.

[name]Ian[/name] – I don’t think it’s too popular, but I don’t think it sounds so good with your last name.
[name]Malachi[/name] – i like this one! [name]Love[/name] [name]Kai[/name] as a nickname
[name]Ezra[/name] – nms
[name]Nathanael[/name] – [name]LOVE[/name]! I’ve always loved this name. I think it goes really well with your other childs name and your last name
[name]Quinn[/name] – I love [name]Quinn[/name] on a boy! I don’t like the N sounds in both first and last names though (same as [name]Ian[/name])
[name]Ronan[/name] – i love it too, but the N’s are a little much
[name]Phelan[/name] – I don’t like it and I don’t think it sounds good with [name]Everett[/name]
[name]Kai[/name] – I like [name]Malachi[/name] nn [name]Kai[/name] better
[name]Desmond[/name] – i like it.
[name]Boone[/name] – [name]Love[/name] it with [name]Everett[/name]! This is a great name for you [name]IMO[/name].

[name]Ian[/name] - Not my style. Too plain for me.
[name]Malachi[/name] - [name]One[/name] of my favorite names. I actually like the way it sounds with your last name.
[name]Ezra[/name] - [name]Love[/name].
[name]Nathanael[/name] - Dont really like.
[name]Quinn[/name] - Like, but not with your last name.
[name]Ronan[/name] - Same as above.
[name]Phelan[/name] - [name]Do[/name] not like.
[name]Kai[/name] - As a NN.
[name]Desmond[/name] - Dont like.
[name]Boone[/name] - I’m sorry, it just sounds like a hick name to me.

With the last name [name]Cochran[/name], I would avoid a first name with similar heavy sounds. [name]Ian[/name], [name]Ezra[/name], [name]Nathanael[/name], [name]Phelan[/name], [name]Desmond[/name], and [name]Boone[/name] fit the bill.

My favorites are [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Ian[/name] and [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Boone[/name]. Personally I’d go for [name]Ian[/name]. I think it has the same friendly, approachable feel as [name]Everett[/name]. [name]Boone[/name] takes the duo in a more easygoing, country feel. I guess it depends on what you’re wanting.

[name]Ian[/name] peaked awhile ago, so I would now consider it merely solid.

[name]Kai[/name] [name]Desmond[/name] or [name]Boone[/name] Malachai is interesting in your sibset and with your last name.

[name]Ezra[/name] is too similar. [name]Quinn[/name] is one of those names crossing gender that continues to hold its own on the boy side.

[name]Granger[/name], [name]Afton[/name], Sadler, [name]Sutton[/name], Langford are suggestions to toss around. Good luck!

Thank y’all so much! Sorry, i’ve been at church all evening and haven’t been able to respond for a while. I really appreciate all the suggestions  Our last name is so hard because I am drawn to names that have a lot of the same sounds. We were going to use [name]Riley[/name], but I have seen lots of little girls lately named that. “An thys”, [name]Daniel[/name] is my very favorite boy’s name! Unfortunately it is the second most popular name in [name]Texas[/name]. My husband has had a few in his classes at school even, so i feel like it is just too popular right now. Thank y’all again for the opinions and suggestions! I will run them by my hubby

Oops, I forgot a few.
[name]Peter[/name]
[name]Abel[/name]
[name]Levi[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name]
[name]How[/name] do y’all feel about these?

I like [name]Levi[/name] a lot. The only reason I wouldn’t use [name]Peter[/name] is because it’s slang for penis. I’m not a fan of [name]Jethro[/name], but [name]Abel[/name] is unique and familiar. I like it.

I love Sadler! It’s a family name for me
