Would love your opinion...what could Etta be short for?!!

I’m pregnant with my third- due at the end of [name]March[/name] and am trying to come up with a girls name!
We love [name]Etta[/name] but I would quite like a name with a bit more substance and meaning, that could be shortened to [name]Etta[/name]…[name]Henrietta[/name] is off the table, any other suggestions would be gratefully heard!
Many thanks in advance!

[name]Marietta[/name], [name]Violetta[/name], [name]Annette[/name], [name]Lisette[/name], [name]Colette[/name], [name]Suzette[/name], [name]Josette[/name], [name]Juliette[/name], [name]Concetta[/name]

In addition to the last post - [name]Loretta[/name].

What about:

Hm. I’m going to repeat some, but oh well!

I’ve marked the most usable options in bold! My favorites are in bold and italics…

[name]Etta[/name] [name]James[/name] was born [name]Jamesetta[/name]. Not recommending that, just fyi. They’ve both been mentioned before, but I [name]LOVE[/name], [name]LOVE[/name], [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Violetta[/name] and [name]Loretta[/name]. I just think they’re absolutely stunning.

Thanks for the suggestions!
I really like [name]Violetta[/name] and [name]Rosetta[/name] but not sure I love them, however I do love [name]Etta[/name] but just would like something with a bit more umph behind it if thats makes sense?!
I have a big soft spot for French names and really, really like [name]Alouetta[/name] but am abit concerned my daughter would spend her life time spelling it out for people and explaining- ‘yes it is a real name, not something my hippy parents made up!’

Other names on the short list are (in order of favouritism…)

Probably with [name]Evangeline[/name] as a middle name

We’re British and like vintage sounding names…am loving hearing all your opinions, thank you! xxx

Hm. Have you considered using one of your favorites as a first name and using [name]Alouette[/name] as a middle name, thus using a name you love and saving your daughter the almost-certain hassle of explaining her unique name choice? You can call your daughter [name]Etta[/name] regardless of her first name, but it would help - I guess - if it at least related to her middle name, right? [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Alouette[/name] is my favorite off your list - so pretty! And, because [name]Evangeline[/name] is so wonderful, perhaps you could go all-out British and use multiple names with [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Alouette[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] or [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Alouette[/name] [name]Evangelia[/name], right? Is your name really [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Louise[/name] [name]Carter[/name], or will baby’s surname be [name]Carter[/name], because I think [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Alouette[/name] [name]Carter[/name], [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Alouette[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] [name]Carter[/name], and [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Alouette[/name] [name]Evangelia[/name] [name]Carter[/name] are stunning.

I also love [name]Iris[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name], very very much.

I second [name]Lemon[/name]'s opinion of [name]Iris[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] - just gorgeous.

My favorite [name]Etta[/name] name that I don’t think has been suggested is Emmeretta. I love it!!! Emmeretta [name]Iris[/name] sounds nice I think
