Thank you all for the feedback! I keep saying Lilevi and [name]Everly[/name] together now and definitely am getting more tongue tied then I originally realized. I’m still pushing for [name]Eliora[/name] or [name]Amelia[/name], so I hope that showing my husband some of your comments will help convince him on either of these two instead! Which do you guys prefer out of the two: [name]Eliora[/name] or [name]Amelia[/name]?
[name]Eliora[/name] by a landslide. The meaning is so beautiful and it’s so much more striking.
100%, yes.
The way I see it, what the name means is what you’re calling your child. I wouldn’t want to call my son “crooked nose” ([name]Cameron[/name]) or “deformed head” ([name]Kennedy[/name]). [name]Both[/name] names I’m very fond of, but have nixed for the meanings.
We will be calling our next son [name]Cameron[/name] despite the fact it means “crooked nose”. It is my husband’s nanna’s maiden name and we had considered using it for our first son but we were so put off by the meaning that we ended up going with [name]Keagan[/name] instead.
However, with this pregnancy the meaning feels much less important than honouring my husband’s family so it really feels like a non-issue. Maybe that’s because I’m older now or perhaps because keagan was just meant to be a keagan (it suits him perfectly!)
I love [name]Everly[/name] and would use it regardless of the meaning if you want to. The meaning of her name will likely only come up a handful of times in her life. [name]Eliora[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] are both wonderful too, but I would choose [name]Eliora[/name] as [name]Amelia[/name] seems to be so popular at the moment.
I would go with [name]Eliora[/name] with your sibest, I think it fits in very very nicely!
For the most part I would say no.
I think if you love the name and it isn’t detrimental, than choosing it more for sound than meaning is completely acceptable.
A “wild boar” might not be the best animal association you could have hoped for but it still is a ‘nature’ choice which isn’t a bad thing in my opinion.
I am not a religious person and yet I still like quite a few biblical names and would use them in a heartbeat if they felt right. The meaning of “belonging to the lord” doesn’t really do anything for me but I always love the sound of the name [name]Dominic[/name], which is ultimately why I chose it for my son. It fits him perfectly and I can’t imagine the name regret that I would have if I had passed it up just because it didn’t have a desirable meaning. I advise you to go with what you love.
Good luck! =]
