Was there a strong reason why you didnt stick with [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]? Was it that your son didnt look like an [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], or was it that something seemed off about the name?

My suggestion would be to find a different name all together… and maybeeee use [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] as a middle name?

Alternatives:
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m]
[name_u]Kit[/name_u]
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m]
[name_m]Hamish[/name_m]
[name_m]Magnus[/name_m]
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
[name_m]August[/name_m]

Rather than weird it would make complete sense to me - [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] is obviously the other name you love. I love [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] too!

[name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] were our final 2 names right before he was born. We decided to go with [name_u]Finn[/name_u] the day he was born, but the following weeks we wondered if we had picked the right name. When he was 7 weeks old, I had a dream that my husband changed his name to [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], and that next morning he said, “What about [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]?” So we changed it, not “officically”, but we told everyone and started calling him that. Then a couple weeks later, I kept thinking, “No, [name_u]Finn[/name_u] was the right name!” So finally after 7 weeks of calling him [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], we changed it back to [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and have great about it since. It’s like that analogy of having to take the wrong path for you to realize that the first path was right. He is our 8th child, and we had never done that before. It wouldn’t have been a big deal if it wasn’t for changing it twice on social media where the whole world knew.

I think it’s perfectly fine. [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] is obviously a name you love, so lucky for you you have a second chance to use it!

No - [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is [name_u]Finn[/name_u] now and it would be a funny story to tell. If [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] fits this baby, go with it

I voted yes it would be weird but now I Want to change my vote to say use [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]. I hadn’t read the entire explanation I thought u had changed it legally to [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] then back to fin. My thinking was that clerically there could be a mix up. But since u didn’t legally change it I say use [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]. Also who cares about social media I bet they don’t even remember u changed the name

Hmm… My instinct was to vote “Yes” too, but thinking more about it, I think you should use it. You obviously love the name, and it wasn’t right for your other child but might be right for this one. [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] go together really nicely, too.

I wouldn’t use it personally. Seems weird, and maybe there was a reason [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] didnt work in the first place. In the end its up to you, and it will make a funny/sweet story if you decide to use it.
Good luck!
