I was just thinking about different ways to honor my grandma when I realized her last name, [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f], who make a nice middle for any future son I might have. With all of my favorite boys names I like it with [name_m]John[/name_m] the best. [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] lastname . . . perfect. Then I saw what might be a problem. I feel like everyone will probably see it but I won’t say what it is just to see.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you see my problem?
If you do, does it matter or seem bothersome?
Are you thinking of [name_m]Captain[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f]? That is what comes to mind for me. I don’t think it is hugely obvious, especially if your son went by [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_m]Jonny[/name_m], [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f]…anything but [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. If that is not what you meant, I hope I haven’t added to your worries. [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] is a great name to work with and I’m sure you will be able to incorporate it nicely.
I love [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] but it reminds me of [name_m]Captain[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f]. I agree with what the above user said, use the nicknames, [name_m]Johnny[/name_m]/[name_u]Johnnie[/name_u], or just [name_m]John[/name_m].
I did think of [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] but in this case I do not think it is an issue. If your surname was [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f], it might have been. Normally I prefer [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] as a middle name for a girl but I love [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] for you on either gender. I also think [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] is very handsome and has an adventurous side.
I actually prefer other combos with [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f]…[name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f], Somerland [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f]'s my thought, too, but I think you could use it just fine, and even with [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] nn [name_m]Jack[/name_m]–how often would [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] be right next to each other like that? I could see [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] being a double barrel, or a [name_m]John[/name_m] going by [name_m]Jack[/name_m], but when would he be [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] [surname]? Besides, middles are so rarely used in day-to-day life that I think it’s just fine.
Yes, I instantly see it as well. Were you planning on calling him [name_m]Jack[/name_m]? I think you might be surprised by how many people do not know that [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is a nickname for [name_m]John[/name_m]. A few people might get it when they see the birth announcement, but after that, most people in his life probably won’t give much thought to his middle name. It is a handsome combination.
