It’s an old American cowboy phrase, but it has other associations as well, like a [name_m]Bing[/name_m] [name_u]Crosby[/name_u] song and a pretty famous line from Die Hard.
i did think it (my association is from die hard via brooklyn 99), but it’s not a big connection and i don’t think it’s a problem
I didn’t suggest it to my husband because I thought it every time it came to mind, but then when I did, he almost immediately text me back with “Zippy [name_f]Ki[/name_f] Yay, mf!” 
I’ve heard the saying a lot (not in real life, but on different shows) and I definitely wouldn’t think of it. [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_u]Kay[/name_u] “Zippy” is a great name!
