A deadly hurricane nearby where you live had her name?
-
The name suddenly jumped to the top ten?
-
A new perscription drug for an embarrassing condition had her name?
Is this after she’s been named? Or before? Is this around her birth time, or months after?
If she’s a newborn, say 3 weeks old, I wouldn’t change it because of any of those reasons. (I’m using my favourite girls name [name]Alessandra[/name].)
I love the name too much.
She’s already born & already named & less than school age, but old enough to respond to the name…let’s say 2ish.
I would if it bothers me enough. Better do it sooner than later.
No, for none of those reasons.
A hurricane is an unfortunate connection but not a deal breaker. If that were the case, people would avoid those names and take the linked hurricane into consideration when naming their babies.
Any name you choose has a risk of entering the top 10 suddenly. Its just a chance you have to take, or “one of those things”, as my mother would say/
The only one that would have me consider it would be the drug/disease one, and at that, all the names on my list have natural nicknames. She could primarily go by the nickname, rather than change the first name.
Ohkay, no, I would not change her name.
Not if it was [name]Katrina[/name], [name]Ava[/name], or [name]Allegra[/name]. I’d leave it.
age 2? Absolutely not. Unless I somehow accidentally named her Viagra and not realized it for 2 years.
I would say yes to the drug and maybe to the hurricane, but no to the top ten.
[name]Ah[/name]! I love it! I agree with you too!
If my daughter were 2, I wouldn’t change her name unless it were truly something she couldn’t live with. I could never predict the name of the next hurricane, if somethings entering the top ten, and if a pharmasuitcal company would use her name for an embaressing disease. I would just have to live with my choices.
- [name]Athena[/name]

Since I live in [name]Florida[/name] hurricanes hit close to home (literally and figuratively). If it’s an especially devastating storm then yes I’d change it. I don’t like the name but hurricane [name]Wilma[/name] was the worst for my family- 2 weeks without power
-
I wouldn’t care since she’d be ahead of the trend
-
Yes, to save her from teasing
- And what I mean by “change” is choosing a similar name ([name]Wilma[/name] > [name]Willa[/name]) or I’d move the name to the middle spot
Age 2, no. Less than 3 months old, only if it were because I was truly, deeply unhappy with it.
