Would you change your name?

I’m curious if you would change your own name, what would you change it to and why? [name_u]Or[/name_u] would you keep your name and why?

my answer

So my name is Mihaela (I’m Romanian-Australian but really an Aussie through and through and the way I pronounce it is mih-hay-luh but the Romanian pronunciation is mih-hai-eh-luh or you can also pronounce it mih-hai-yeh-luh). I would personally keep my name! I actually love my name despite everyone in the entire world misspelling and mispronouncing it. The amount of times people call me [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] or [name_f]Mahala[/name_f] or [name_f]Malala[/name_f] or even (on three occasions believe it or not) [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] :joy:

i’ve never heard your name before, mihaela, and i think it’s so beautiful! :sparkles:

my name is hannah, and i love my name very much! if i were to change it, i would probably go with a family name, or something that is meaningful to me.

a few ideas

marnie
i’ve just always loved marnie, and my surname means “sailor” so i love the water connection!

katherine
my great gran’s name! i think it’s so beautiful and timeless. though i’m not sure on a middle, i know i would probably go by “wren” or “kate”

cecilia
this is kind of cheating, because it is one of my middle names! i would love love love to be cecilia, it’s just so pretty!

liv
now this one is just plain cool. i’ve always liked short names, and i think this one would fit me quite well!

fiona
fiona has been on my list for a daughter for a long time, and maybe that’s because i think it would fit me quite well!

and a few middles i would be interested in are winter, autumn, bloom, and day. i love them because they have subtle family connections and are naturey!

You could totally go by Cecilia even tho it’s your middle name! My mum gave my siblings and I Romanian first names and more English sounding middle names so we could choose! My brother has always gone by his middle name Samuel (his first name is Vasile so I get it lol).

I’d prefer not to share my first name but I would change my name if I could. I don’t at all hate my name but I don’t love it either. It’s not a common name but it just feels a bit blah to me. Anyway, if I were to change my name I think I’d change it to either [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]. I love each one and although quite different from one another I can see myself wearing each of them.

I wouldn’t change my first name, but I’ve wanted to change my middle and last names for years!! But, I don’t want to give myself different names… it’s just that my mother’s last name is on my birth certificate as a middle name, but I’ve wanted to make it part of my legal last name for a long time. Still thinking about really doing it!!

I would 100% change my name, and by all means it’s not a bad name, I’m just non-binary, and my name is too fem for my liking.

And I’m down to these three; [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] [name_u]March[/name_u], [name_u]Beau[/name_u] [name_u]Parker[/name_u], and [name_f]Sally[/name_f] [name_u]Rocket[/name_u]

I think [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] [name_u]March[/name_u] is my favourite of the three!:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], and I adore my name! I live in [name_u]New[/name_u] [name_u]Zealand[/name_u] so it’s theoretically a popular name, but I’ve never really met another one within the country - just a few overseas. So no, I wouldn’t change it. If I had to change it though, in some unreasonable theoretical scenario, I would most certainly change it to [name_f]Alaska[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]!

[name_f]My[/name_f] name is ok. (Julie Elizabeth). I wouldn’t change it though out of respect for my mother. Plus, I don’t think I could get used to being called something else unless it was very similar lol. The only thing I would change is my last name if I married.

i know a mihaela! it’s the go-to feminization of michael in greece (:
i’ve sort-of changed my name? i’m in university, and i don’t introduce myself as my birth name to anyone
my legal name is vasilia “celia” (i exclusively went by celia growing up, no one called me vasilia). i think celia is a nice-enough name, it just really doesn’t suit me. currently i go by emmeline with the nickname molly, though sometimes i introduce myself as just molly if it’s easier! i would like to legally change my name to emmeline celia/vasilia one day, if possible!

I wouldn’t change my name because I like it and because I’m used to it

I have changed my name, and haven’t regretted it for one moment. I didn’t hate my birth name (well, I hated my middle name) but it just wasn’t me. [name_f]Every[/name_f] time I hear my (chosen, legal) name now, it makes me happy because it feels right.

I did, it was one of the best decisions I’ve made.

I love the name Mihaela.
