Would you use it...?

I go back and forth on this all the time. My son is Theoden, we call him Thee quite a lot. He has a LOT of nicknames but Thee is the one we use the most.

When I was pregnant with my youngest, we fell for [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] but ultimately decided it was too close to Thee. We did like [name_f]Calantha[/name_f] as an alternate, though. I also love [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f], [name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f] and multiple other -the ending girls names.

Now, is the -thee ending just too much with a sibling that we call Thee almost all the time?

Holy swoon worthy sibset!! Your kids names are awesome!

I can see where [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] would be an issue but I would avoid it by using “[name_f]Calla[/name_f]” as a nickname or go with [name_f]Calantha[/name_f]. I think either works perfect with the rest of your bunch

I’d opt for [name_f]Calantha[/name_f] instead. I think it’s nice to give siblings names that “go” without repeating their initials, nicknames, or major syllables. It seems like “thee” could be tricky to avoid if you have another girl, but you have so many great names on your list. I’m swooning over every boy’s name in your sig, too.

Your kids have swoon-worthy names. I think that any name ending with -the is too close with a brother called Thee. My favorite girls name from your signature is Illyria.

I agree that -tha is better than -the. Then it’s more like sharing a vowel sound than it is an actual syllable.

I don’t see any issue, actually. As long as you call her [name_f]Calla[/name_f], [name_f]Callie[/name_f], [name_f]Lana[/name_f] or [name_u]Lanny[/name_u] or anything but The/Thee, you easily avoid the problem.
