Ok, so not pregnant (yet!) but hubby and I were discussing a few girls names tonight and we both [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]. That is, until I said it with our last name. [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_m]King[/name_m].
Does it sound too much like ‘[name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_m]King[/name_m]’ to use or am I crazy?!?
I can definitely hear it in there. My other problem with it would be that [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] means “little [name_m]King[/name_m]” so it’s kinda odd considering your last name is [name_m]King[/name_m].
I didn’t notice until you pointed it out…and now [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_m]King[/name_m] is all I can hear in my head when I look at the name. Sorry! Other suggestions: [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], [name_f]Noa[/name_f], [name_f]Leonie[/name_f], Rheia, [name_f]Briony[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u], Delynn, [name_f]Marin[/name_f] (mah-[name_f]RIN[/name_f]), [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], [name_f]Mariah[/name_f], [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f], [name_u]Wren[/name_u].
I can hear it as well… I just don’t know if I would have if I wasn’t listening for it. Perhaps Rylan, Rylen, Riah/Ryah, or Rylie/Riley/Rylee/Ryleigh would still get you the same feel as Ryan without the sound of Lion King?
Add on… here’s some with the long eye sound…
Mya/Maia/Maya
Lila/Lyla/Lilah
Mariah/Moriah
Kya/Kaia
I would have noticed it until you pointed it out, but now it’s all I can hear! I think if you don’t mention the association to people they might not notice. Try it out on a friend or something. Tell them “[name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_m]King[/name_m]” without mentioning the [name_m]Lion[/name_m] [name_m]King[/name_m] and see if they come up with it own their own. If that doesn’t work- how about [name_f]Brynn[/name_f]?
I didn’t notice it myself but since you pointed it out, it really sticks out to me. I agree, try it on friends and see if anyone picks up on it without you mentioning it.
My hubbys name so I hate it on a girl. I know a little girl named [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] and one named [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] and they seem so boyish-like names that need to stay as boys names only. Everyone has their own opinion though. Why not [name_u]Rylee[/name_u]-much softer and more feminine I think.
