[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone-- My hubby and I have been pouring over names for our new L.O. We are only a few months along but we want to get used to the names we choose We are not finding out the gender and we have our boys name pretty set. For our girl’s name however, we are stuck. We want to find a way to name her after both of our moms. His moms first name is pretty unattractive but her maiden name is Renkowitcz. My mom’s first name is [name_u]Laurie[/name_u]. He came up with [name_f]LauREN[/name_f] but it just seems so used already. I was thinking today about the name [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. I love it and it’s so uncommon but simple. The only problem is I have to get my mom’s name in there. Any tips? I’ve thought of [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] but I’m otherwise stuck.
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Laura[/name_f]?
I adore [name_u]Wren[/name_u]! I think it’s a great way to honor one of them. I think even [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Elora[/name_f] would be great, but maybe too much of a stretch? It has the [name_f]Laure[/name_f] sound in it, but not the [name_f]Laure[/name_f] spelling. I think I prefer it to [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], because they’re both nature nouns, and I’m not the HUGEST [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] fan (it’s a nice name, though!). I can’t really think of any other [name_u]Laurie[/name_u] names, besides the [name_m]French[/name_m] double-barrel [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Laure[/name_f]. I’m not sure how great [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-[name_f]Laure[/name_f] sounds…
Ahh! I love [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]! It makes me happy just saying it. Hmmm is just starting with the same letter too much of a stretch? What’s her middle name? Her favorite flower? Birth stone? Those could work as middles. I love [name_f]Laura[/name_f], [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], and [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], but not so much [name_f]Loretta[/name_f], [name_f]Lorena[/name_f], etc.
I really like [name_u]Wren[/name_u]! Either [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] or [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Laura[/name_f] would be lovely to honour both moms.
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] is so pretty;)
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] is gorgeous!
I love the name [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. I think a two syllable middle name is better than three. [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] doesn’t flow as nicely as I’d like if I were choosing the name. Here are some other options:
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Laurie[/name_u] (I love this. It sounds so [name_m]French[/name_m] hehe)
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Lauren[/name_f]
I think [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is adorable. I like [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] . . . But I also like the idea of [name_u]Wren[/name_u] [name_u]Laurie[/name_u]. It feels even more honoring to use your mom’s exact name, and personally I don’t mind having a name that’s stylistically a mismatch in the middle spot. Especially for an honor name …
