Wulfric? Opinions please!

I think [name]Wolf[/name] or even [name]Wolfgang[/name] might be easier than Wulfric while still conveying the meaning of the name.

So my background is in Latin studies. I didn’t study Old [name]German[/name] or Anglo-[name]Saxon[/name], but knew a bunch of people who did when I was in grad school

From what I can tell, the –rich ending in [name]Ulrich[/name] is the same as the ‘ric ending on Wulfric. [name]Both[/name] mean “power”, “ruler”.
So by choosing any name with that same part, you could say you are honoring [name]Ulrich[/name].

Wulfric is Anglo-[name]Saxon[/name]. [name]Ulrich[/name] is [name]German[/name]. The Wulfric I read about was alive in the 11th century.

Other options for names that have that ending are:

[name]Aldric[/name]: “old ruler” – 9th century Germanic

[name]Alaric[/name]: my favourite – “ruler of all” or “all-powerful”. Name of a 5th century Visigothic king.
