recently I’ve found out 2 people close to me are pregnant. naturally that has brought a lot of conversation about baby names. during this I stumbled upon the name Ramona and am really crushing on it. what do you guys think of Ramona??
It’s alright but I think it needs another generation before it is only [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_m]Quimby[/name_m] age Eight’s name.
I really like [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]! It’s a name I seriously considered for my daughter but just didn’t feel right for some reason. But I would love to meet a little [name_f]Ramona[/name_f].
I really like it. I think it’s adorable. I would definitely consider it if I were having a child!
I adore it. I have since I was tiny, and I’m 30 now, so it’s worn well in that sense. It’s a nice combination of feminine, unexpected, not too flighty but not too somber… and I like that it’s a consonant for strength/definition but with nice round vowels in it to soften it. I’m quite fond of [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], [name_f]Ione[/name_f], and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], so it’s clear I like a well-placed o.
However, I had no idea my married name would sound so bloody awful with it! Now I can’t use it!
[name_f]My[/name_f] list I would use with my maiden surname:
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Tansy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] (my grandmother was R.L. and my family tends to initial match)
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is one of my favorite names! And like stripedsocks, I also dig [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], and [name_f]Noemi[/name_f], Semona, and [name_f]Leonie[/name_f]. [name_m]Ramon[/name_m] and [name_m]Roman[/name_m] for boys, too.
love love love!
Would I use it? Nope, it’s nms.
But there’s nothing wrong with it. I think it feels classic, a little bit English privet school but with a cheeky edge.
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f]'s a lovely name.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] how it is so familiar, but not in the top 1000. It was on my list for awhile. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t think kids these days will have a huge connection to the books. Cute nickname for me would be [name_u]Romy[/name_u].
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is a gorgeous name. To me, the [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_m]Quimby[/name_m] connection is a plus, and I don’t think the name is too associated with her. I like the NN [name_f]Mona[/name_f] (and the other kids’ lit association with [name_f]Mona[/name_f] Melendy from The Saturdays)
I love [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], I have just recently added it to my list. It has many possible nns ([name_u]Rae[/name_u], [name_u]Romy[/name_u], [name_f]Mona[/name_f], [name_u]Mo[/name_u] etc), it’s familiar yet uncommon, feminine and pretty but not frilly, and it has a great meaning (wise protector, I think), what’s not to like?
I adore [name_f]Ramona[/name_f].
I like it a lot! [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is fresh and spunky.
