Oh, the perennial trials of loving similar-sounding names. I’ve had both on my long list for a while and am trying to decide which I prefer. (not crucial, since I’m not expecting or TTC).
Winter pros: I love the imagery associated with the word name, the slightly longer sound, etc.
Wynne pros: weirdly, the exact opposite. I like how short it is, the flexibility of not being a word name with an existing set of imagery. (It also does sound a lot better with my last name, frankly).
With both names, I like how the name feels both fresh/fun/approachable and graceful, adult, almost mythical in tone.
Do you guys have a preference? Should I just keep both on my list?
I like [name_u]Wynne[/name_u] best! [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is pretty but too literal for me. I live in a cold area of [name_f]Canada[/name_f] where the winters are, well, pretty awful lol.
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] would make a nice middle name though.
Ooh, I like [name_u]Wynne[/name_u]. It feels very sleek & feminine but not frilly. It’s simple & unique too. Spelling may be a tad tricky, but not horribly complicated. I feel like [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is getting a little bit popular, really. And I think that the ‘ter’ part just sounds harsh. Plus, I hate snow, so I may be biased!
