I know it’s pronounced zanth-ee but in my head, it’s zanth
I’ve never met anyone with the name, but I prefer uncommon names!

I like this name a lot. I think it sounds absolutely beautiful. I have a bit of trouble with the spelling at both the beginning and the end taking that extra time to think about before pronouncing, but that’s an issue that soon disappears when you know a [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] and it becomes familiar. I think we should all know more Xanthes
I like how it looks but now how it sounds, unfortunately. The Xannie/Xanax association just occurred to me too.
Ohh, oops!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] realised i’ve been pronouncing it wrong! I always thought it was a silent e, ‘zanth’. Now im not too sure how I feel about it… It is a name I can appreciate though, its a bit harsh, but its strong.
I like [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]! I used to not know how it was pronounced so I disliked it, but now I know and I like it!
I pronounce it Zanthy (hopefully that makes sense)
I don’t know any Xanthes.
I like it as a first and a middle!
Easy mistake to make, especially if you aren’t very familiar with Greek names. It’s along the same lines as [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f].
My general opinion is that it’s a good name but reminds me of Xanax/Xanny which is a drug
I think it’s pronounced Zanth
I don’t know anyone with the name
And it really depends on what the first/middle/last name is.
I love [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]! Pronounced ZAN-thee. I don’t hear it often enough, and I’d love to see it used more as a first name especially. I don’t know any Xanthes personally but know of a teenage [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] through social media (Australian). I’d use it myself but alas it doesn’t work with my our surname.
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] is gorgeous and spunky! I know a teenage [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] who has never had pronunciation or teasing problems - she says it as ZAN-thee). Great name.
Also, she has a twin sister called [name_u]Hero[/name_u] and I think that is just amazing.
Like it a lot. Probably my favorite X name for girls. I pronounce it sorta like ZAHN-thee. ZAN-thee is nice too but reminds me too much of Xanax which is why I prefer the other pronunciation. I don’t think I would use it personally, but it’s quite unique and pretty. If I met a baby named it, I’d definitely fawn over it.
Xanthe- [name_u]Zan[/name_u]-thee.
Love it! [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is on my list of girls names.
