After years, decades really, of frenetic name nerding, I’m actually pregnant with an actual child. Mind blown. All my plotting and all my planning and all my name matching and researching and evaluating have lead to this moment of naming paralysis. I just cannot commit to a middle name for my all time favorite daughter’s name: [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. For some reason, none of the many other beautiful names I like feel like the right fit for [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], lyrically or otherwise. My husband loves it too, but he is firmly opinion-less until I come up with something he doesn’t like (which I’m fine with, that’s helpful in its own way).
Specifically, what I’m looking for are opinions/validations on my existing list, and/or fresh suggestions. I’m okay with any number of syllables. Hypothetical future sibling names are [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u], and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] (and I can’t just use this for baby no. 1 because I love [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] 300% more and I’m difficult that way.)
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] _______ Rayfine (fine, as in, “Holy crap, [name_m]Boris[/name_m] Kodjoe is fine”)
-no R-names, with our last name, any R names sound like comic book characters (which I’m alllllmost cool with, but I’m trying really hard to be a responsible grown up here.)
-no default middle names: [name_u]Rae[/name_u], [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_u]Leigh[/name_u], [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], etc (they’re popular because they sound good with everything, and I’m not throwing shade here, I’m just not into them. I have one. I hate it. Plus, my best friend has a monopoly on the name [name_f]Rose[/name_f] to an obsessive degree, and we already have a [name_f]Grace[/name_f] in the family.)
-no hard AY names, because they rhyme with our last name.
