Young but not too young

Hey there,

[name_f]My[/name_f] boyfriend and I are trying to find a girl name that is young and fun but not too young or crazy that it will look strange on an adult.

We originally fell in love with the name [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] however everyone told us that it was horrible and would never work for someone over the age of 13. Some others we like that we think are young & fun are [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Mila[/name_f], and [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] but we can’t use those or any names too similar to those. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any names that you think may fit well for us based on [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Mila[/name_f], and [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]? Flow is also pretty important to us, so we’d also like to make sure it flows with [name_m]Gallagher[/name_m].

Thank you!

Similar style to [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Mila[/name_f], [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_f]Ayla[/name_f].

[name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Layla[/name_f], [name_f]Melanie[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f]?

I second [name_f]Julia[/name_f], or [name_u]Julie[/name_u], one of its meanings is “one who is youthful”. I think [name_u]Julie[/name_u] sounds younger but many people find it dated and see it on a 40 year old.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Nia[/name_f]?

Thank you all! We like [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], and [name_f]Lilah[/name_f]!

I love [name_f]Vera[/name_f]! I also really like [name_f]Lilah[/name_f].

[name_f]Lily[/name_f] is cutesie but I believe is getting very popular. I knew so many [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]`s growving up I cannot like it anymore.

I love [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]! It’s beautiful, short and sweet (yet spunky). [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] is also the name of one of my main characters in my (almost) novel.

But if you’re not using [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], I suggest:

  • [name_f]Anya[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Coraline[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Nova[/name_f]
  • Evolet
  • [name_f]Greta[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Frida[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Lana[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Lacey[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Luna[/name_f]
  • [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]

Good luck and hope I helped.

I think [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] on it’s own is too young. [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], perhaps?

I also love [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], and [name_f]Mia[/name_f].

We actually prefer a “cutesy” short name to a longer name. [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] may be nice, but like we said, we can’t use any of the names mentioned in the original post or any names too similar (including variants). Popularity doesn’t bother us and we’ve actually never met a [name_f]Lily[/name_f] or a [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. We do like [name_f]Celia[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]! [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] are not pronounced the same, tfzolghadr, so I’m not really sure what you were saying?

I second [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. Also:

[name_f]Lissa[/name_f] (pronounced [name_f]Lys[/name_f]-uh, not lease-uh)

We like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! Also from tfzolghadr’s suggestions we forgot [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] on our list of likes!

I don’t see anything wrong with [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]. I can see it on an adult…

You might also like
[name_f]Caia[/name_f] / [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] / [name_f]Kaja[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] / [name_f]Maia[/name_f]

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] is great! I don’t see any issue. I also like [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_f]Avril[/name_f], [name_u]Alix[/name_u] (ancient form of [name_f]Alice[/name_f]), [name_f]Lita[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], and [name_f]Iris[/name_f].
