Your #1 Choices ONLY!

  • If I could only have one daughter, the name would be Raphaella. But I can’t decided on the middle names. I think it would be btween Raphaella [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] [name_f]Bathsheba[/name_f] [name_f]Charis[/name_f] or Raphaella [name_m]Theodora[/name_m] Richenza [name_f]Charis[/name_f]. Its go big or go home for me, no regrets in regards to my name choices. I like a mouthful of names, despite the practicality of it.

If you could have 1 daughter, What is your number 1 name? What would your combination of the names be? Would you hold out and be reserved or go big and extravagant with no regrets in your name style?

[name_f]My[/name_f] style is spunky vintage. [name_f]My[/name_f] middle name has never had a meaning and it has always bothered me. [name_m]Hence[/name_m] why we have decided middle names are to honour family members. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]-[name_f]Jayne[/name_f] is on the list for our next girl… (not yet pregnant). The middle name is to honour her two aunties.

Awesome, what would your number 1 name be?

Ooops sorry edited post when I realised I missed the name off!! Then I thought maybe it is nearly frilly? Ha so hard to pin point!

Awesome combinations: I had briefly considered [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], but Raphaella won over my heart, second was Vespertine.

Oh Raphaella is beautiful! I’m so in love with it, it’s just gorgeous. I absolutely love the combo Raphaella [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] [name_f]Bathsheba[/name_f] [name_f]Charis[/name_f] - it’s honestly stunning.

[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter would be [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] or [name_f]Fenella[/name_f]. Right now, anyway.

[name_f]Fenella[/name_f] is a rare, Anglo-Celtic beauty to me. She’s so delicate, but also incredibly earthy sounding, and [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] is gradually growing on me (I also find Fen quite charming). [name_f]Sibylla[/name_f] is so regal, unexpected but recognizable plus I am absolutely in love with the nickname [name_u]Billie[/name_u]. [name_u]Billie[/name_u] sells it for me if I’m honest, it’s just the most perfect nickname.

Middle names are undecided - I have a few combos I love - but realistically I’d have at least 2 (they’d be a combination of [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_f]Viola[/name_f], [name_f]Lettice[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Briar[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] or maybe a few family surnames). Middles are a massive thing for me - they’re just as important, if not more than the first. They’re the substance of the name - they tell a story of history, culture, heritage etc. It’s just a really special thing in my opinion.

For me, the name is [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] (hel-AY-nuh). I chose this combo because honoring family is extremely important to me. [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is the name of my grandmother, whom I’m very close to, and I’m her only granddaughter. The middle name [name_f]Helena[/name_f] I chose because variants of the name [name_f]Helen[/name_f] have been in my family for at least 3 generations. [name_f]My[/name_f] name ([name_f]Eleni[/name_f]) is the Greek form of [name_f]Helen[/name_f] and my cousin’s middle name is [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] (a variant of [name_f]Helen[/name_f]), and we were named after my aunt [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], who was named after my great grandmother [name_f]Eleni[/name_f]/[name_f]Helen[/name_f] (it skipped a generation). I feel it is important to carry on the tradition, and it honors so many people in my family.

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] is pretty too…Raphaella is lush…but I also love your middle names [name_f]Bathsheba[/name_f] & Richenza, GLORIOUSLY archaic & rare!!!

“Middles are a massive thing for me - they’re just as important, if not more than the first. They’re the substance of the name - they tell a story of history, culture, heritage etc. It’s just a really special thing in my opinion.” - I TOTALLY agree! I’m giddy and exciting reading everyone’s posts. So many stunning names. Its great seeing everyone’s stories. Stunning choices on here.

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]!!!

Yes, middle names are very important imo too…they imbue a name with special meaning & love…

Btw, I’ve got to say VespertineRose, I absolutely adore [name_f]Bathsheba[/name_f] Richenza or Richenza [name_f]Bathsheba[/name_f] as a name now…I wonder if it’s true love? I do love your naming style

If I could only have one daughter, (or one child), I would definitely use a double middle because there are so many people to honour and so little children with that!

[name_f]My[/name_f] top girls name (right now) is [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] where both [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] are honouring; I would add in [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] between [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] to fit in another honouring name. So the combo would be [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]

I’d probably go with [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f].

MN would definitely be [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as that’s a family name. First name… no clue! [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] maybe, but I feel like that’s a bit boring. [name_f]Celia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]. [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. I don’t know! I like shorter first names, but find they don’t go very well with [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. I’d probably go with [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

At the moment, I think I would name my only daughter [name_f]Colette[/name_f] or [name_f]Audra[/name_f]. The middle name would probably be [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] to honor my grandmother, even though she hates her name and doesn’t like that I would try to include her name :frowning:
