Your dolls names

I posted about this on my blog ages ago: Names of my Childhood Toys – babynameobsessed

And I’ve wondered what are your dolls and teddies names?

Dolls:
[name]Emma[/name]
[name]Freda[/name]- My mum still laughs at this choice. it was after a sesame street character and i was 2.

My sister’s dolls are:
[name]Lauren[/name]
[name]Ellie[/name]

My mum had one named [name]Gladys[/name] named by her dad who wanted my mum to be named Gurtrude or [name]Glady[/name]

I had a doll called [name]Maggie[/name]. I had dolls called [name]Lulu[/name], [name]Amy[/name] and [name]Allie[/name] too. My favourite bear (which I still have) was called…Wait for it…[name]Teddy[/name]

[name]Amelie[/name]'s favourite doll is called [name]Summer[/name].

At age 5: handmade ragdoll “Felony”…I was a special little child >:p
At age 8: “[name]Persephone[/name]” the platypus
At age 12: fairy dolls “[name]Elysia[/name]”, “[name]Marisol[/name]”, and “[name]Lilith[/name]”
At age 15: [name]Teddy[/name] [name]Bear[/name] named “Ender”

I didn’t really have that many dolls that weren’t American Girl dolls that already came with names (and when they come along with six books written for the doll, what person in their right mind changes the doll’s name?). The one doll I remember having I named [name]Rebecca[/name]. After my sister who had just been born and I was an incredibly proud and excited sister. Hey, I was four.

I named much more stuffed animals–a wolf named [name]Ruth[/name] (after my grandmother), two bunnies (one with a purple bow, the other with pink fur) named [name]John[/name] and [name]Jonathan[/name], a larger-than-life teddy bear named Mr. Snuggles… there were more, but those were my favorites, so those are really the only ones I remember. Apparently most of my stuffed animals were dudes.

Hm, I had so many dolls, but the names coming to mind are:
[name]Brittany[/name]
[name]Nancy[/name]-[name]Breanna[/name]
[name]Annabella[/name]
[name]Isabel[/name]
[name]Rainbow[/name] [name]Night[/name] [name]Magic[/name] (um, she came wearing a rainbow dress, and I really liked my grandmother’s powder from [name]Avon[/name], haha)

I never really had many dolls. My mom gave me a homemade pillowcase doll at birth, and I only ever remember calling it “pillow baby”. She said its name was Ms. Hollywood, but I refused to call it that. I had a small doll named [name]Molly[/name], but her eyes would open and close and it scared me… so I didn’t care for her much. I had a yellow doll named “yellow baby” that belonged to my aunt…

And a stuffed dog named Scamp, but he was really the only one I ever played with/carried.

Yeah, I wasn’t much into naming as a child. I generally called things whatever they looked like.

The only dolls I had were American Girl dolls, and most of them came with names. I named my “lookalike” doll [name]Hazel[/name] and my Bitty [name]Baby[/name] twins were [name]Edward[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name]. I also had a doll named [name]Jessie[/name] that I got in first grade, but she wasn’t an [name]AG[/name] doll.

had several dolls over the years, but the only ones I can remember are [name]Tiffany[/name], [name]Sandy[/name], & [name]Benjamin[/name].

I had a ton of dolls and teddy bears! The only names I remember are [name]Kiara[/name], Moonblossom, [name]Teddy[/name], [name]Marie[/name], and [name]Hanna[/name]. I wasn’t really into names as a child.

Last year I got this huge [name]Valentine[/name]'s [name]Day[/name] bear from my mom with a big pink heart for a nose, and I named it [name]Carys[/name] Loveblossom.

I named my doll [name]Cheyenne[/name]. So not my style anymore.

[name]Carys[/name] Loveblossom is so cute!

My teddy bears name was [name]Rue[/name]

My dolls were called…
[name]Gabriella[/name] & [name]Marie[/name]

My sisters…
[name]Roxie[/name] & [name]Lulu[/name]

Lol. Thank you!

The two dolls I remember naming we’re [name]Sarah[/name] and [name]Mary[/name] [name]Beth[/name]. I guess I was very traditional.

(This has made me so nostalgic about my American Girl dolls! I had [name]Samantha[/name] & [name]Felicity[/name] The company chose nice names [name]IMO[/name])

I wasn’t a dolly person at all. I was totally in to my cuddly animals. I only ever had a couple of dolls and only one I think wasn’t named when I got her. She was called [name]Suzie[/name], but I think that was my parents doing.

I couldn’t even begin to list all of the animals I had (okay, have) though I still know all their names. There are well over 100 with no name-duplicates that I can think of. However my favourite when I was a toddler was a bear named [name]Barney[/name], though I think that was my parents too. When I was 8 I got two stuffed dogs for [name]Christmas[/name] - [name]Rufus[/name] the rottweiler and [name]Dotty[/name] the dalmatian. They’re married and still sleep with me in bed embarrassed face. There are also two giant stuffed dogs at the bottom of my bed (they’re bigger than my actual dog) and they’re [name]Ellie[/name] the old English sheepdog (who was called [name]Charlie[/name] when I got her, but I already had a [name]Charley[/name]) and [name]Wolfgang[/name] the [name]German[/name] shepherd.

I think the best though, was me naming a little stuffed dog [name]Cecil[/name]. I was two. My parents have no idea where I got the name from.

My Cabbage Patch Kid was named something ridiculous (I don’t remember what) but I didn’t like that so I named him [name]Archibald[/name] :).

Oh, and when I was 1 or so, I named a lamb plushie I had “Lamby”. Yup, I was one creative kid…

My favourite doll was [name]Lucy[/name]…! I also had [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Lisa[/name] ([name]Lisa[/name] came already named!) and I had a bunny called [name]Rosie[/name]…

I had a [name]Rufus[/name] - first Cabbage Patch. And a [name]Sarah[/name] - second CP doll. That’s all I remember though I was partial to the name [name]Todd[/name] for some strange reason. The CP dolls were named on their birth certificates and I really have no idea where ‘[name]Todd[/name]’ came from as I don’t like that name now. shrug

The one I can remember best was called [name]Cassie[/name]. I was mostly a fan of stuffed animals rather than dolls, so here’s what I can remember…

[name]Kitty[/name]-Ruff (a gray cat who I pretended barked like a dog)
[name]Amber[/name] (an orange tabby cat who looked exactly like [name]Kitty[/name]-Ruff. She was his twin sister.)
[name]Spike[/name] (a stuffed [name]German[/name] shepherd)
[name]Ginger[/name] (a fluffy orange cat with white paws - “dated” [name]Spike[/name])
[name]Sally[/name] (a black lab who also dated [name]Spike[/name] ((shut up, I was a hopeless romantic)))
[name]Alex[/name] (a lion)
[name]Simba[/name] (a lion)
[name]Nala[/name] (a lion) ((Creative, right?))
