I am copying this off the girls thread…(I don’t know what I am having yet and I love the idea).
In an effort to help knock off the trolls…
What is your number one boy’s name that you would be devastated if someone close to you chose, making it unusable for you? You can only choose one! Adding why you love the name would be a plus. Mine at the moment is [name]Hugo[/name]. I love it because of the meaning and the sound, and the fact that it’s not too popular (for me anyway). I have never met a [name]Hugo[/name] before. What is yours?

[name]Damien[/name]. It’s been my favorite since I was 13. I’ve only met a few [name]Damien[/name]'s and the sound of the name, the feeling it gives me, everything is perfect about it. Everyone around me knows it’s my favorite so if someone close to me used it, I’d use it anyway because they’d already know I was planning to.
[name]Edmund[/name], [name]Philip[/name] and [name]Orson[/name]. All three of those are too close to have a favorite, I just love them so much. I would not be surprised if one of my husband’s siblings wanted to use [name]Orson[/name] (my husbands middle name). His older sister who is currently pregnant with a boy wants to name her son after my husband. I am thinking no way! We have first dibs. My husband doesn’t care though.
I’ve been in love with name [name]Westley[/name] ever since I read The [name]Princess[/name] [name]Bride[/name], and would cry my eyes out if someone i know used it.
A few weeks ago I started asking myself the question in this post, which helped me realize which name I was most attached to, and it always came back to [name]Leo[/name].
I didn’t start this thread here because I’m not as attached to my boy name as I am to [name]Phoebe[/name], and there were more trolls on the girl’s forum when I looked. But I’m glad you liked it enough to post one here! My top name is [name]Lucian[/name]. I doubt anyone close to me would use it, but I would be very upset if someone used [name]Ian[/name], because that is the nn I’m in love with. Luckily for me right now, the only pregnant people I know are having girls. I love [name]Lucian[/name] because it’s not popular at all and I just love the overall sound of the name. I have also never met an [name]Ian[/name] and I just love the simplicity of the nn and that it is not unheard of.
I don’t have a boys name that sticks out, really, but I think if I had to pick one, [name]Bennett[/name] would be it. I love it to the point that if my sister, my best friend and two of my next door neighbours used it, I’d use it anyway because I just love it that darn much.
I think probably [name]Edmund[/name]. [name]Lucas[/name] is my absolute favourite that I feel most attached to, but at the same time it is pretty popular so I can’t get too upset if other people use it. The same thing applies to [name]Tristan[/name]. [name]Edmund[/name] feels different because it’s such an under-used gem to me and I think it would lose a lot of it’s charm if I knew more than one.
My Favorites are Demitri (my choice spelling for [name]Dmitri[/name]) and [name]Alphons[/name]. But I’m afraid they don’t mix well with my favorite girls’ names, like [name]Melinda[/name] and [name]Roberta[/name], my favorites for sentimental reasons (honoring family).
