Your favorite celestial names

I wanted to pronounce [name]Lyra[/name] ‘leer-uh’.
But if that doesn’t work, you could go with [name]Lyric[/name]?

This!

I’m a huge fan of [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]. I can say that the only thing I hate from HP is the doom of my favourite name, [name]Bellatrix[/name].

[name]Lyra[/name]
Alhena ([name]Gemini[/name]‘s star)
Gienna (Cygnus’ star)
[name]Orion[/name]
[name]Maia[/name]
Pleione
[name]Adhara[/name] (Canis [name]Major[/name]'s star)
[name]Mimosa[/name] (Crux’s star)

You can pronounce it [name]Frances[/name] if you want. If you’ve fallen in love, leera is fine, though she would have to correct people on first meeting.

[name]Celeste[/name] is growing on me too!
[name]Aster[/name]/[name]Esther[/name]/[name]Estelle/name
[name]Celine[/name]

I would use Lira to get LEER-uh, but then of course that pronunciation makes me think of someone, well, leering.

I’m so glad you posted this prompt – I put the same one up awhile back but it didn’t take off and there weren’t many suggestions. I love cosmological names.

My favorites (regardless of whether they’ve been posted already):

Adrastea ([name]Jovian[/name] moon)
[name]Asta[/name] (Latin: bright as a star)
Bituin (Tagalog: the stars) this is a new find for me, and I am love loving it.
Hoshiko (Japanese: star child) the meaning is just so perfect, I adore it.
Ortzi (Basque: sky)
Sitara (Hindi: star)

Apologies if any meanings are off, I don’t speak with authority

[name]Estella[/name] is my fave.
